I was using FIZZ modem only, but when my router failed, i switched to the FIZZ router. Since then, my remote desktop connection don't work anymore.

It's such a basic feature! i see multiple people asking about this issue on this forum without a good answer :(

Can someone please let me know if there is a specific setup needed for this 25 year old technology!

Thank you in advance.

Not much details provided. What is the direction of your traffic, outbound or inbound?

In case of outbound, go to Security -> Firewall or Security -> Port blocking and check the current settings on your router

In case of inbound, check if you have port forwarding in place (Basic -> Port forwarding)

There are probably new parameters to enter during a modification. Good luck''.

Thank you Andrei. Unfortunately the firewall is not it. My firewall is set to minimum by default, i even turned it off and still have the same issue.

The Remote desktop comnection (RDP) i am trying to use is between 2 computers that are both hard wired to the router on my local network.

Can you ping each other? Check the firewall settings on each computer.

Are you connecting each other using the private ip? 192.168.0.x?

Did you try to press reset button?
