Travel add on
Hi
i want to ask about travel add on. Will travel to Italy only.
1 Once I sign up for say $10 for 1 gb data it will be active for usage immediately?
2 How do I turn off my Canadian calls, text, voice mail box and still have access to the travel data? Sorry I usually just turn on airplane when I travel and use free wifi at accommodations.
3 if I want more travel data, do I just find free wifi and log into Fizz and add more gb of data? Is there an option to add more than 1 gb?
4 has anyone used the travel data in Italy (Europe)? How’s the speed? Does it work properly?

1) yes, enable the data roaming
2) you don't need to do anything, Fizz will not invoice it and they should not work, the incoming texts are free
3) yes you can add when you need using the wifi
4) When I travel to Europe I am use a local free, in Italy last time I got one fro 7.99 euro :D with 50Gb and included Canadian calls :D

Q#1 how do I enable data roaming on an iPhone? I've never done it before. Do I enable the data roaming once I land in Italy? Or do I do it when I'm at the Canadian airport? Sorry I'm not clear on this point.
Q#2 Just double check. I don't do anything different. I leave my iPhone as if I'm in Canada.
Q#3 I understand that I can add more gb data when I have wifi. I wanted to know when I'm still in Canada, is it possible to add say 5 gb or 10 gb data at a time? Right now it's 250mb; 500mb, or 1 gb at a time.
Q#4 Are you saying that you used a local Italian provider (€7.99; 50 gb & included Canadian calls)? Which company? When was it?

1) it's up to you when you do it, but there's no harm in doing it when you are in your home area so I suggest doing it at the airport.
I can't give you a step by step guide, but you should be able to activate data roaming in three section of three settings related to your SIM card.

3) you could in theory buy multiple add-ons, but it seems pointless when you can buy them progressively: as one gets depleted, you can buy the next one
4) if you plan to use a lot of data it would be A LOT cheaper to buy a local SIM card. There are dozens of options, both physical SIM cards or eSim, just do some research online

1) search iphone settings for "cellular" then "cellular data options" and make sure roaming is on.
2) no need to touch your settings when you leave the country.
3) buy more data PRN, but try to do it prior to running out - just check your usage in your fizz account.
