Samsung Galaxy A54 5G, VoLTE and *#*#4636#*#*
Hi, I just received my new Galaxy A54 5G from Fizz and set it up. Everything seems to be working, however, I cannot verify if it is VoLTE compatible. I don't see any VoLTE switch. I tried to make a call without WiFi on but cannot see any LTE or LTE+ indicator. And *#*#4636#*#* is not working either. Is there another way to access the phone information? Does anyone have an idea or solution or should I contact support? Thanks, Ulrike

The VoLTE needs the mobile data on otherwise will not work, but don't worry it will not use the data from your plan.
I will also enable the data roaming

Hi @uzedia
- disable the wifi
- make a call
- check if the signal stay in LTE
if this is the case, your call was done using the VoLTE technology
This is strange that you cannot see the signal, what you see?

I tried this. Does Mobile Data have to be on while I make the phone call?

When you disable the wifi, can you see the signal and the name on the top?

Only when I turn on the "Mobile Data" button but when this button is turned off, I don't see anything, just the bars.

Do you have a new sim card or you still have the old one ?
I got it 2 weeks ago and VOLTE is enable by default and it works. ( there is no way to enable nor disable it ).
If you have a new sim card and it's not working, maybe your account has not been converted to VOLTE yet if your acccount was created before certain date ( I don't remember exactly ).
I joined Fizz in 2018. I never receive an email from Fizz regarding the conversion of my account but it works for me. I have a new sim card though.

I joined Fizz last June and got the Fizz Sim card with the red lightning symbol. However, my Motorola phone wasn't working with VoLTE in the US. I never received an e-mail from Fizz either regarding VoLTE. Where do you see that VoLTE is enabled on your phone? Can you access #*#4636#*#? When I check under Settings - Mobile Networks - Network mode, I see LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) but I saw that for my Motorola as well.

So you keep on Data Roaming all the time? I will try that.

Did you enable the mobile data? Did you try again to see if the signal stay in LTE?
I'm leaving all the time the data roaming on, since with Fizz, if you don't have money in the fizz wallet, you will not be charged.

Yes, I see the LTE signal now.

If you can see it also during the call, your call is using VoLTE

Hello uzedia,
Thank you for describing your situation.
If you followed the exact steps Jess_i88b6 provided you with, your VoLTE calls should work perfectly. You need data on while you call so that the VoLTE can work. VoLTE means Voice over LTE, so you're literally making calls over data (your plan's data is not used during these calls, you only need the function on).
You can see more details regarding this here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/why-volte-important.
I hope you have a pleasant day!
