I am planning to travel to US next month. I would like to use my data and make calls from US to canada. If I take the plan coverage Canada + US and no international calls. Can I make calls from US to Canada? And can I use my data in US like I was in Canada?

    Hello TC_S4,
    In order to be able to use your data/calls/SMS services in the USA, you need the following 3 options checked:
    - VoLTE Fizz SIM card (it has a red lightning bolt on it);
    - VoLTE Fizz certified phone (you can verify if your phone is Fizz VoLTE certified here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/compatible-devices);
    - your phone has to be migrated to the new VoLTE platform.

    I can tell you that the mobile plan you have associated with your Fizz member account is migrated to the new VoLTE platform, so all you need after you change your plan to the Canada + USA coverage is to verify if the phone is VoLTE certified and if the SIM card is a VoLTE compatible one.

    You can change your plan by following these steps: log into your Fizz member account > My Plans > scroll to the plan you wish to change > click on Manage and then Adjust your plan > use the Plan Wizard to adjust the plan as you wish > as you adjust your plan details, you will see your new monthly fee in the box below > when you like what you see, click Save Changes > changes take effect at the start of your next payment cycle.
    You can see more information about this topic here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-do-i-change-my-mobile-plan.
    Also, please note that you will be able to change your plan only according to our plan change policy (it will be effective starting with your next payment cycle > https://fizz.ca/en/plan-change-policy).

    If you have any other particular questions regarding the services in the USA for your Fizz member account, you can always contact us. Please use the chat bubble located in the lower right-hand corner of the Solution Hub pages. If you have trouble finding it, click on the following link (with an incognito window ctrl+shift+n), and the chat bubble will appear within 15-20 seconds: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/im-unable-log-my-fizz-account-what-do-i-do.

    I wish you have a pleasant day!

    Hi @TC_S4

    Yes you can, however, your plan must be migrated to the VoLTE technology in order to make calls in USA. Otherwise, you need to force the use of 2G, etc etc

    When you make a call in Quebec, your phone is switching to 3G or it stays on 4G or LTE? If you stay in 4G or LTE during the call this means that you have a VoLTE plan (probably you create your plan after march 2022 or they migrate it)

    If you don't have a VoLTE plan, check if you have a VoLTE SIM,

    Your SIM card connects your phone to the Fizz LTE network. A VoLTE compatible SIM card is therefore required. This SIM card shows a red lightning bolt icon.

    If you don't have the VoLTE sim you must order it https://zone.fizz.ca/dce/customer-ui-prod/simcard/free-order?step=quantity

    For the data it will work witout a problem

    Remember, that you need to make the modification at least 4.5 days before the next billing cycle

    If you have data rollover you can also use them when you modify your plan in the USA

    Remember to activate the data roaming also for the calls

    Short answer is "yes".

    But it depends on the following conditions:

    1) do you have a VoLTE SIM card (with the red lighting symbol)?

    2) did you join Fizz after March 16, 2022 or before?

    a) If before March 16, 2022, did you get a confirmation email that your plan has been migrated to VoLTE?

    b) If after March 16, 2022, do you have VoLTE certified phone? If not you will need to force your phone to use 2G.

    3) if you change your plan to Canada-USA it will take effect on the next billing cycle. Are your travel plans dates correspond to your new billing cycle?

    @TC_S4

    Please also check what your plan will cost today, since every time you modify your plan you will end up paying the actual price and not the price that you had before. It seems that Fizz increase the prices these days. Because, now one can guarantee what the price will be in a month.
