is Samsung S20 FE (not 5G) compatible to VoLTE at Fizz?
Hi,
My wife has been a Fizz customer for a few years.
She received the new red-lightning SIM card and it has been installed a few months ago.
She owns a Samsung s20 FE phone (not the 5G) version.
it is not clear if this is in the Fizz official certified phone list (https://fizz.ca/en/faq/compatible-devices)
If see these:
- Galaxy S20 FE 5G
- Galaxy S21 FE 5G
She often needs to go to the USA for work.
Can someone confirm is her phone is/will be supported for VoLTE?

I'll share a bit of knowledge on how the situation with VoLTE works:
-When a phone appears in our Certified list then that means that if you have it and use our VoLTE SIM cards then you will be able to use the VoLTE feature in our network.
-If the phone appears as Compatible with VoLTE then it isn't guaranteed that it will work with our network yet. We will keep adding phones to our list as time goes on and implement the VoLTE feature in our members plans.
In short:
-Phone appears as a Fizz VoLTE Certified phone --> It can use VoLTE with us
-Phone appears as Compatible with VoLTE ---> It can't use VoLTE in our network yet.
Right now, the phone model you mentioned doesn't seem to be in our list just yet so I would like to point you towards what Jess_i88b6 said in regards to calls in USA.

First of all, do you know if she received the email informing her that her account will be migrated?
Does she have a Canada/USA plan? If so, Fizz is supposed to terminate the migration for these customers this week.
Once she is migrated, she can try to use VoLTE here in Canada to see if her phone is compatible. The list is updated constantly during the migration, but we can be certain that the Samsung will be compatible.
When she is in US she can still use the phone on 2G for the calls

Only to assure you, the 5G is not necessary to use the VoLTE technology.
