Hi, i'm currently with Koodo and the network reception is really bad at my home. I only get 1 bar. I'm trying to figure out the best way to test the network and see if the reception is better.

I'm trying to keep it pain free. If i get a sim card, and pay for the cheapest plan, i guess i get a new phone number ? is there any way to change/transfert my real phone number on that sim card if the reception is good ? Because i don't want to transfert my phone number, and then find out that the network is as bad, and have to retransfert it again to Koodo.

Whats my best option ?

    Hello @cedrickp32

Thank you for your interest in the Fizz mobile services!

You can purchase a Fizz Sim card and then activate it with a brand new phone number choosing the cheapest plan in order to test your coverage/reception. As long as you're located inside our subscription zone, which can be found here: https://fizz.ca/en/coverage, and there are no obstacles that block your connection (concrete walls, steel, etc), you should have the best coverage available.

If your reception will be improved and you'll want to transfer your number from Koodo to Fizz, all you have to do is unsubscribe from that initial Fizz plan (if you unsubscribe within the first 15 days, you'll be refunded and the unsubscription will be immediate), then activate the Sim again choosing the option "Transfer your number to Fizz", and follow the instructions on screen". Please know that in order to transfer your number to Fizz you'll have to make sure that the number is coming from our subscription zone, otherwise it cannot be transferred. The number must also be active with Koodo, so make sure to keep it that way. Landlines cannot be transferred either.

This FAQ page will also help you with more information about the transferring process: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/activation-how-do-i-transfer-my-current-phone-number-to-fizz

If you're unsure about the number's transfer eligibility, please contact us in private preferably on our live chat by accessing the FAQ above then clicking on the question mark on the bottom right, and selecting chat.

We remain at your disposal for anything else!

Have a good one, take care.

Hi Cedrick, why not contact customer service and explain your situation. They will be able to inform you if it is possible the procedure you are talking about, or perhaps offer you the best solution to take a test at Fizz, if necessary.

Go to this page: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/resolving-issues and simply scroll down until you see the green bubble with a question mark, to your right, click on it and then another click. You can chat with support. Chat is the faster way.

You can also use Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fizzca/

Find a friend with Fizz close to you . Or scan manually networks. See what you see there. Also check network coverage on fizz website. You ll see how good it is the coverage without buying anything yet. Cheers.
