Hi
You will be able to use mobile data while you are in the USA.
As for calls and texts, these are hit and miss (not officially supported) as stated here by Fizz: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/why-do-some-calls-and-texts-when-us-not-work
Some customers have been successful by connecting to 2G network while in the USA to make calls and SMS. You can change the network settings on your phone to try this.
Here are a few options to make and receive voice or video calls and send and receive text messages: WhatsApp, Google Duo, Facetime and Messenger.
These apps use data and do not require voice coverage.

T-Mobile still supports 2G at least until the end of this year, and has not yet announced any termination date. May not be very reliable, but if you are in need, it may be a way to make and receive calls.
See a post on how to connect to 2G. May be useful in the USA.
AT&T no longer supports 2G nor 3G, so you will have to wait until Fizz launches VoLTE before you can make calls with AT&T. And let's hope Fizz launches VoLTE before T-Mobile shuts down it's 2G.
You can use your data on both networks, and social media apps like Messenger, FaceTime, WhatsApp, Google Duo (now Google Meet) will work. And if you are familiar with Microsoft Skype, you can even call land phones and listen to your cellphone voicemail messages. Calling cost is 3.1 cents per minute USA and Canada
