My home internet has been down for about an hour. Is anyone else having issues?
Here is an update on my situation that may help others: My outage is caused by major damage to several Videotron lines at the corner of Avon and Westminster, caused by a truck that accidentally clipped the wires. I went to the site and spoke to the Videotron technician (a lot more helpful than Fizz support) who told me that it will not be repaired before late tonight, possibly early morning. If you are experiencing an outage in Western NDG, Mo-West or VSP, chances are that this is the cause.
Did you try to turn off the modem for couple of minutes?
Only the support, can tell you if there is a problem in your sector, you are the first today with this kind of problem here in the forum

Yes it has been for me too. Chat option disappeared, they don't respond on Facebook as usual. Working from home is a huge risk with Fizz. Looking at other options where you can get someone on phone (even chat) when they are down!!!
I wanted to comment on the other post about Fizz being down but they conveniently closed the discussion. After waiting for an hour with chat (!!!), they admitted that there is maintenance in parts of MTL and lines are down. As usual, totally clueless about when they will be back up. Took me an hour to chat with someone who had no idea what was going on.
I just chatted with Videotron who confirmed that there is an outage in some western parts of mtl. Thanks Videotron!

At least if the problem affects a large area, you don't have to wait in line to talk to the support! You know the problem will be taken care of :)
I had to wait in line to find out that they were down. Did the work for you. Would be nice if they communicated this info.
Exactly, I kept checking the status page but it says there is no issue. What's the point in that page if not to communicate outages..

If these are your expectations, you shouldn't choose a discount company.
There isn't a Videotron reseller, or even Videotron, that has a page that lists all sector outages. There would be dozens of outages to list every day.
A system with an interactive map like that of Hydro-Quebec would be ideal, but even premium Internet providers don't offer it, imagine discount companies like Fizz.
