Why can't I receive a verification code from a bank?

I'm more than a bit alarmed at seeing the number of comments about this issue, and how old some of them are. When will this get fixed? it is basically locking me out of many services that I use, rendering Fizz useless. Is there ANYTHING that can be done about this?

    Hello Stealth,

    I am sorry to hear about this situation.
    I recommend reaching our support team to provide more information.  
    Also, please verify this situation as well with the service you are supposed to receive the verification SMS from as well just to make sure it's not something caused by their side.
