SIM reports the incorrect phone number (but phone works)
When inserting my SIM on a new phone (or after factory reset) it reports the incorrect phone number. This number is supplied by the Fizz network and can not be modified by me.
CallerID is correct, and I am able to make and receive calls using the correct number.
Resetting the network (as requested by Fizz) has no effect (other than to lose all my saved account info).
There has been a ticket opened for weeks with no progress (no updates, no resolution).
Does anyone know enough about the backend to understand how a SIM could report the wrong number but the network still operate with the correct number?
