Does anyone know of they throttle speeds? I watch IPTV and every single day, without exception, at 8pm, everything buffers. It becomes unwatchable. Speedtests still show I'm getting my full speed connection (120mbps).

To further test my situation I bought a VPN account, and behold the buffering stopped. I'm trying to find information on my aggrement where fizz states that they can throttle speed but I'm not finding anything. Does anyone know?

    Hi

Here is what Fizz writes on the Home Internet page where one would sign-up -

The 120 and 200 Mbps accesses are subject to the traffic management policy (see footnote 3).

    (3) For more details on our Internet Traffic Manangement policy, visit https://fizz.ca/en/faq/internet-traffic-management-policy.

    Hope this helps.

As mentioned, you may contact Fizz customer service to know more.

Hello @HoMsEy, as per what @PF_Ref_D2U9A wrote, Fizz does have a traffic management policy to manage what they perceive as excessive traffic on an account. As for the VPN reducing the issue, you can try Opera browser which has a free VPN built-in. Another way to contact Fizz about the issue is My Settings, Contact Form. My view is if you pay for it, you should be able to use it all.

    Hello HoMsEy,

I am sorry to hear about this situation.
I just verified the connection and from my side everything is looking ok.
All signals and speeds are within normal values.
Changing channels could help n your situation. You can also try switching bands by disabling the band steering.
Here you can find more information about this: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/my-wi-fi-network-cutting-how-do-i-fix-it
Please contact our support team if the issue persists.

    Have a lovely day,
    -Alex

Thx for the link to their policy. It states that they control upload speed and not download. Which in my case, IPTV is download only. So it doesn't make sense.

Guess I'll contact support at 8pm to see what's up.
