Can I keep my phone number and ask for services in other mobile enterprise?

I havent service for a month, no one in fizz help me I need to change to another brand that really give me my phone service, wath I have to do?

    Hi @nacosta

    Sorry to hear you are having issues with the service.

    Is the service just not working with your phone ? Is the service marked as "active" in your account and has been charge ? Is the problem a defective SIM card or phone ? You don't provide any details.

    Here we are all just users like yourself, so we don't have access to see your account.

    You could move your service/number to another provider, but before you do that, your service needs to be active and at least able to send/receive text messages, because to port a number out, you need to make the request to another provider, then they will ask Fizz to transfer the number, Fizz will send you a text to confirm your intent and you have 90 minutes to reply to the text. If you don't reply, the transfer out will fail.

    • Sign into your account

    • Wait 3 seconds for the green bubble with a '?' appears at the bottom right of the browser, if you use a phone you must use it in desktop or horizontal mode
    • Choose the option 💬 chat
    • If the green bubble does not appear make sure your ad blocker is disabled, otherwise try with another browser.

    PS: For me the only combination that works for CHAT, is Firefox, in a private window, and only when in the French language..

    Other means of contact

    CHAT however is the quickest method, but facebook is the easiest.

    Yes you can keep your phone number and go to another provider. This is how to do it.


    Cancelling and KEEPING your number

    To keep your phone number at a new provider, first and foremost, DO NOT cancel your current Fizz service — only active phone numbers can be transferred to a new provider.

    The process is simple: tell your new provider that you intend to keep your number. Your new provider will contact Fizz to disable your Fizz plan. The cancellation will only come into effect after your new provider has retrieved your phone number.

    Your new provider will ask you to identify your Fizz plan to confirm your number transfer. Before you call your new provider, have the following information handy:

    • Your Fizz account number: To find your account number, go to My Planthen go in Manage. Beneath your telephone number you’ll see your 8 digits account ID starting by 2 or 3...
    • OR The IMEI number for the last phone you used with your Fizz plan: This is your phone’s identity card; it also allows us to identify your plan. Your IMEI number can be found by dialing *#06# in your phone’s keypad.

     

    If you are transferring your number over to another mobile provider: 

    - Once you completed your subscription with this new provider and requested the transfer of your Fizz number, you’ll receive via text messaging a transfer authorization request. This text MUST be answered within the prescribed time frame (90 minutes) to confirm your wish to transfer this number. 

    - If this text message remains unanswered, or if you answer after the prescribed time, your request to transfer your number will be cancelled. You will need to contact the other provider directly to initiate a new request. 

    - If you don’t receive the transfer authorization request by text messaging, contact the other provider directly to initiate a new request. If you still don’t receive anything with that second attempt, then contact our Customer Service team: log into your Fizz account, and click on the chat bubble located in the bottom right corner of the page during our business hours.

  • Hello @nacosta, how have you tried to resolve the problem with Fizz? Many have issues with the online Chat feature, I always use the Contact Form under My Settings in your account to open a Support Ticket.

    To switch to another provider, sign up for the other provider, inform that provider to port your phone number from Fizz. You will have to provide the other provider your Fizz account number, for security purposes. This other provider will send a notice to Fizz, Fizz will send you a text confirming you want to switch service providers and for security purposes you have a limited time to respond to this text. A few hours later you should have mobile service with your new provider.
