Sometimes there are intermitted outages because Vidéotron is doing some network work or is updating the infrastructure. Happened to me a couple of times in the course of last month (and I am using my own modem). Should be coming back up online after max 15 minutes. At least that's my experience. :)

I had the same issues (downtown Montreal) but now, thankfully, it's back up.
