Data access fails for hours while in USA with US data plan.
After working perfectly for several days, last week my data stopped working in the US. I got a notification indicating an authentication failure with ATT. I tried airplane mode, restarting my phone, manually selecting other carriers, etc. After (somehow) contacting support, I got a ticket raised. Data started working again the next day. This morning data was gone again (just when I needed it for Google Maps). Tonight it's working again.
Any suggestions as to whether there is anything I can do when this happens?

I am sorry to hear about this situation.
It may be possible that you lose the signal or it's very weak if you are traveling from one location to another.
If that is the case, please verify your signal bars and try to manually switch to a different network.
