Connected my own router but not working

Hi - I followed all the steps to connect my router but the light that tells me it’s connected to the modem is always red. When I go online to configure the router (Asus RT-AC66U) it tells me there is a problem with my provider modem. I’ve tried rebooting both a number of times but it’s just not working! Can someone help please?

    Hello Nancy B. #40527,

I am sorry to hear about this situation.
We spoke a few hours ago and I suggested a factory reset.
Also, here you can find more information about the bridge mode connection: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-can-i-use-my-own-wi-fi-router-fizz

Did you still experience issues after the reset was made?
In case you did please reply to our conversation or reach our support team for further investigations: https://fizz.ca/en/contact-us

    Have a lovely evening,
    Alex

I have the same setup and it works fine, did you follow these steps?

Did you connect the cable from the fizz Modem to the Wan port on Asus?

Also what cable did you use? cross over cable or the RJ45 supplied with the router, looks like your router is not getting the signal from Fizz modem.

Is the fizz modem alone works?

Thanks for your answer Vanigh. I connected the cable supplied with the router. The Fizz modem was working but I was having wifi issues (it was sometimes down to 8mbps) which is why I decided to get my own router.

I’m going to try resetting the Fizz modem to factory settings and will try it all again. Unless you have other suggestions?

Nancy, Let us know if the factory reset solves the problem.
