Why is my internet slower than it is supposed to be?
I have had fizz's internet for about two months now and since about a week or two the speed hovers around 6-8 Mbps when it's supposed to be at 30. It even shuts off for a few seconds every few minutes. Is there a simple explanation or fix? I have tried turning the modem on and off but no difference.

Hi Laurian,
Are you testing your internet speed using ethernet cable of wifi?
To narrow down the issue, you should perform speed test first using an ethernet connection.
Make sure to check this FAQ:

Hello Laurian,
So sorry for to hear about the issue you are experiencing.
If the issue is encountered while connected to the wifi network, we suggest you to manually select the 5 GHz from your devices as indicated on our FAQ at the point 6 : https://fizz.ca/fr/faq/comment-installer-mon-modem-wi-fi. We also suggest you to perform a factory reset, you will be able to see how to restore your modem on its factory reset on the same FAQ at the point 8.

Hello Laurian,
It really sound like a Wifi problem. First of all, connect your computer to the modem using ethernet cable, then do a speed test.
If the speed test is around 6-8 Mbps, then answer back and we will try to help.2
