Can you tell me which e-SIM you chose that also gave you calling please? While it is unlikely that we would make many calls having the ability to phone our hotel or for taxis would be great. All or almost all calls would be within the country we will be in (Greece). Our past SIM cards all provided us with a European number…
-
Perfect. Thank you so much for your response
-
Thanks. So it sounds like it works. Did you have to buy anything from FIZZ or have any funds in your "Wallet" for the incoming texts to work? I'm just concerned about banking apps and the silly two-factor authentication that we are forced to use these days
-
Thanks. While that could be helpful I am.hoping to keep my FIZZ SIM card in but use the e-SIM for data (really cheap in Europe) and only use the FIZZ SIM to receive texts (if they come through). I'm wanting to confirm that I would actually receive the texts
-
Thank you. I know that information. I am hoping someone who has actually used a FIZZ SIM and an e-SIM in Europe can tell me if the texts/SMS worked while in Europe. But I do appreciate your response
-
That doesn't seem correct. One physical SIM and the other e-SIM. I've understood that this can be done, using the e-SIM for data.
-
no worries, agreed. don't worry, be happy. happier once I have VoLTE on my phone too though
-
Yay! My wife just got notice (via text and email) that her account with the new Pixel 7 has been migrated to VoLTE. At least one of us will have phone and text in USA. We restarted her phone and it actually works on LTE for calls, yay! I have been a FIZZ customer a number of months longer than her however my phone, a…

I guess any number of years are also several weeks or dozens or hundreds of weeks. Generally something isn't expressed in "weeks" if it's going to be multiple months or a year
-
The original post from Fizz says SIM card emails will take place over "several weeks". That was NINE MONTHS ago. I wonder why they even posted it. So nine months later most of us are still waiting for VOLTE to roll out. I'm down to about five weeks before my trip to USA and still no idea if either myself or my partner will…
-
I think you aren't looking at (or showing) the whole bill. My partner's bill looks similar except that if you look further below you "may" or "should" see credits for all those rewards. At least that's how it works in hers. She is charged for all the rewards and then credited for all of them as well. I hope that's the case…
-
Well I'm hoping they activate VoLTE for all Canada/USA plan members. I just switched both myself and my wife back to Canada/USA for the beginning of May in anticipation of our USA trip - May/June. Hopefully we will have not only data but also phone and text.
-
Can you please direct me to the French post? I'd love to review it
-
Same reason Fizz cell service is only available in Quebec and Ottawa likely. Videotron doesn't currently have service in most of Canada except through partners, except in Quebec and Ottawa
-
Happy for you. I sure hope my wife and I get the same message and migration soon. No calls or texts in the US is a pain in the posterior.
-
At least your phone is now VoLTE enabled now. Further than both my wife and I are. Curious - type of phone and when joined FIZZ?
-
I could be totally wrong here but seeing as FIZZ is a "discount" carrier I can't imagine 5G coming anytime soon.
-
I forgot to mention when I make a call the settings for both Mobile Voice Network type and Mobile Data Network type switch from LTE to UMTS when I look at SIM card status. The network for both switch from LTE to UMTS (3G). I definitely do not have VOLTE even though I have the new SIM card active. Somebody at FIZZ needs to…
-
Whizz, Thanks for your response. My new VOLTE SIM card (with the lightning bolt) was activated within the last two months, sometime in February I believe. I have been a FIZZ customer since July 2020 but only got the new SIM card and activated it around February 2023. The phone is Samsung S10e, which is VOLTE certified on…
-
I'm thinking that is not the case. My wife has a newly purchased (from FIZZ) Pixel 7 along with a new SIM card. Her VOLTE is not enabled. I have a Samsung S10e, which is VOLTE certified on Videotron, but NOT on FIZZ for some reason. How it can be certified on Videotron, and every other network I've checked, but not on FIZZ…
-
I would think that any newly-purchased phone (from FIZZ) along with the new SIM card should automatically be activated for VOLTE but that does not seem to be the case. Very strange how FIZZ is doing this rollout to my way of thinking.
-
I already have the new lighting VOLTE SIM card. I ordered it a while back, received it, and activated it. My wife got the new VOLTE SIM card when she purchased the new Pixel 7. We both have the SIM card, we are just not activated on VOLTE. But thanks for the suggestion.
-
I do not have VOLTE or notice for VOLTE- July 2020. I do have a new SIM card with the lightning bolt. My wife also does not have VOLTE or notice - January 2021. And with a brand new Fizz purchased Pixel 7 with new SIM card. Looking forward to seeing who has VOLTE and when they got it. Maybe we can figure out if we will…
-
Boy, oh boy. I sure hope they aren't going by the Fizz "number". Nicolas H is 848, I'm 32755. I'm not sure what my wife's "number" is but she joined Fizz a number of months after I did. If they are going "numerically" we are in for a long wait for VOLTE. We don't have time for a long wait since we need USA voice/text…
-
It all depends upon how you define "long". it has already been "long" in my mind. I'm worrying about having phone/text in USA come May/June and perhaps having to use a different provider that already has VOLTE working in the USA. I don't want to switch, I mostly like FIZZ but lack of phone/text while in USA is troublesome.…
-
We could even manage mostly OK IF we could get my wife's new Fizz-purchased Pixel 7 migrated but I'd love my Samsung S10e migrated too. Videotron has VOLTE certified S10e so why hasn't Fizz? Keeping my fingers crossed
-
Boy, I sure hope my wife and I are both switched over to VOLTE within the next month to six weeks. We head to USA in May and we need voice/text which means we need VOLTE. Fizz - if there is any way of migrating us before our trip I really hope you do it. Not having voice/text in the US this past August was not good. We…
-
I'm happy to hear we are approaching the "full release period" however that doesn't make me feel more comfortable that my partner and I will both actually have phone and text service in the USA by mid-May. Do you have a date? Is there any way to get specific account activated a bit earlier or assurance that VOLTE…
-
That is correct, unfortunately. Phone calls and text have been "impossible" since July while traveling in the States. It was so frustrating and inconvenient during our August trip. It's ridiculous that even with the Canada/USA plan you cannot make or receive calls or texts in the US without VOLTE and FIZZ is ridiculously…
-
FizzyFizz, we specifically NEED telephone and text service. With the Canada/USA plan you get your data usage however once in the USA 3G phone services DO NOT work. We know this from our August USA trip. No phone calls, no texts. Only VOLTE is available in the USA. It is impossible to do banking, pay bills, etc., these days…
