New device financing
I am just curious if anyone else is frustrated with the fact that the only way to be able to finance a new device from Fizz is through Affirm and that Fizz doesn't have their own financing of devices? It seems to be a waste of a person's loyalty to brand and one-time payments, why can't fizz have their own way to finance and take your loyalty of time you have been with them in to consideration when it comes to cost of the device. Plus affirm is very expensive to finance anything through and is also (At least in Manitoba) difficult to be approved for financing with. I have almost a perfect credit score and no outstanding debts and nfant not be approved for a $1500 cell phone through Affirm but yet approved for a $750,000 house and $65,000 vehicle it makes no sense. I wish there was another option is all I'm trying to say, but I guess until they do I will have to purchase a device outright from a competitor.
Other then this small issue, love Fizz great value and excellent service

I think it's pretty common. I see a lot of businesses offer only that same option.

Hi,
You’re definitely not the only one who finds this frustrating.
Fizz doesn’t offer their own device financing — they rely only on Affirm — and yes, that blocks a lot of people, even those with excellent credit. Affirm uses its own internal scoring model, completely separate from banks, which means you can be approved for a house or a car… but still get refused for a phone.
So far, Fizz has never announced any plan to offer in‑house financing based on loyalty or payment history, even though many members would appreciate it.
For now, the only workaround with Fizz is to buy the device elsewhere and simply use your Fizz SIM. A lot of members do this to avoid Affirm.
And yes — despite this weak point, Fizz still offers very good value for mobile service.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It comes up often, and it helps Fizz see that this is a real need.

To be honest, it doesn't bother me. I just finished financing my phone two months ago and it's been smooth sailing. Never had an issue with Affirm.0

Good morning @Purple0129
My experience was much different.
I live in Manitoba, I bought a new iPhone 16 last year with a Fizz promotion that cut my phone plan in half for the length of the Affirm financing (2 years with NO interest) so I saved $420.00. I didn’t even have to activate the phone on Fizz. I haven’t seen that type of discount on an iPhone since tho.
Fizz has a discount now on a phone, but it may now be the brand or model you want?
Affirm denying financing does seem strange since you have $750,000.00 in equity and no debts. I t would not take much of an income to support an interest free loan for a phone.
Cheers,Brad
