Downgrade to 1 GB plan to get 5G?
I have one more day before my plan renews. Should I get the 1 GB $20 plan for 5G access? I have tons of 10 GB blocks sitting in my account. My plan is $25 25 GB LTE plan. Is it worth it? Thanks!

Nobody can really answer this for you. It depends on how much data you need. Do you need 1GB or 25 GB?
5G is mostly good for two things:
- Lower latency (gaming etc. when on mobile data)
- More network capacity (i.e. if you're often in places that has lots of people, concerts, sports arena, street parades & festivals)
Again, you need decide whether you need that.
Also, the 10 GB blocks in your account expire Sep 20th if not used, 30 days later if activated at the last possible moment.

In my opinion it's not worth it to change in your case.

I suggest keeping the 25 GB plan, even if coverage is limited to 4G LTE. This will leave you with plenty of data, even if your Fizz perks run out, and you don't save much by switching to a 1 GB plan, especially if you just one line.
I would also check out this link to make sure that your region has 5G, and your phone supports the required frequencies:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Mobile#Radio_frequenciesIt says Freedom Mobile, but Fizz uses the same Vidéotron and Freedom networks. The key is with the bottom three rows: 600 MHz, 1700/2100 MHz and 3500 MHz. I think the second row applies to Québec and Ottawa, although Ottawa has limited 5G service, while the other two rows apply to other regions. (Fizz in Manitoba has no 5G.) In our case, the benefits of 5G are very limited.
For my family, 25 GB and then some is more than enough, so extra lines at 1 GB works out. Plus, if we gift data from the 25 GB line to a 1 GB line, the latter can still use the 5G network. There may be better deals when back-to-school, Black Friday or Xmas get closer, but for now, the 25 GB plan was one of the best mobile plans ever offered. 😀
