Thoughts on Annual Plans?
I got my kids phones with a different provider since they provide annual plans that come to around $12 per month, I'd switch to fizz if there was something similar here. Anyone else on a similar boat? I find those great for kids and seniors who spend most of their data in wifi.

Fizz does not offer annual plans.

You can modify your plan according to your needs, i did one for 2gb data and sent some data from my plan according to their needs.

It depends exactly what you need. The annual plans have unlimited talk & text, Canada-wide coverage but very little data (like 2 GB per month)
Fizz (in BC, AB & ON) has 25 GB of data per month, data rollover & data gifting for $16 but PAYG talk and text and only province-wide coverage.
So, it depends on what exactly you need. The big selling point for Fizz is that you can add additional stuff to the base price plan for only a few dollars more to get exactly what you need

Good morning @Alvaro F.
Another consideration is that your Fizz price is guaranteed not to change. You other providers price will most likely change after one year.

I like the option of annual and semi-annual prepaid plans, and I'm a little disappointed that Fizz does not currently offer them. They are available at Freedom Mobile, and like Fizz, that brand is owned by Vidéotron. Coverage will be the same with all three brands. Some of the nice plans that Freedom used to offer include:
- $99/year for unlimited calling, global messaging, VM+ and 🇨🇦 coverage
- $120/six months for unlimited calling, global messaging, 25 GB monthly, basic VM and 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 coverage
Like Fizz, Freedom has a Price Freeze Promise, so those who sign up for a plan can keep it. While Freedom still offers a $99/year plan today, it now costs 5¢ to send a text, instead of including unlimited global messaging. Incoming texts remain free. Other than Gatineau, Freedom does not allow Québec activations.
Fizz does offer basic monthly plans, but without referrals and at least 12K reward points, they can seem pricey:
- $16/month for unlimited provincial calling, optional 250 MB Internet, free incoming texts, without VM
- Extra $4/month in Québec for unlimited sent texts, or $3/month outside of Québec
For those who have the time to score referrals and rewards, Fizz plans can be the same or better than annual and semi-annual plans at other providers. Fizz is also nice for those who use mobile Internet a lot. I like having 25 GB per month for a low price, and plans with a larger data allowance only cost a few dollars more.

I meant to say 9K reward points, not 12K. Silly me! 😛

If you prefer unlimited talk & text, you take annual Plan.

So, if any better offers hit the market during that time or your usage requirements change, you'd end up paying more.
Also, annual plans require a certain level of discipline from the user. Since you you can basically burn through your annual allotment of data in a week or two and then end up with nothing for the rest of the year. Especially, if the users are kids, like what the OP was asking for, I'd be very careful with that.

The first part is right, as an annual plan is good for a year, or a strange 360 days with some providers. For those who are trying out a network, I recommend the 15-day trial with Fizz, or one month prepaid when trying any provider. For those who enjoy a network, the annual and semi-annual plans are a nice way to save.
I have also seen a situation where someone already paid for a monthly plan, but then switches to a plan of a longer duration before the month is over. This would mean losing a little money with the monthly plan, but in the long term, the longer plan works out to be a better value.

This is generally true, so when I first heard of the $120/six months recent promo at Freedom, I was worried that it only included 25 GB total for six months. Thankfully, those with that plan get 25 GB per month, and the six months refer to the payment cycle and unlimited talk/text service.
On almost every other annual or semi-annual plan, though, the data allotment (and minutes/text if they're not unlimited) is for the entire length of the plan. It's best to use system settings that provide monthly alerts, and block cellular Internet over a certain limit. Generally, these plans aren't meant for heavy surfers!
