SMS still not working ?
Been almost more than 2 weeks and still no sucess in send or receive SMS messages.
I know I posted before, but I would not do this if everythhing was working as it should.
On my phone, all settings are according to APN's FAQ page :
APN: mobile.bm
MMSC: http://mms.mobile.bm
MMS proxy: mmsproxy.mobile.bm
MMS port: 80
APN type: default,mms,supl
These setings are ok and with these setings send and receive of RCS messages work.
I receive support email where it was told to use these settings:
Name: Fizz
•APN: fizz.mnc500.mcc302.3gppnetwork.org
•MMSC: http://mms.fizz.ca
3. Restart your phone after making these changes.
4. If you're still having issues, try temporarily turning on Airplane mode for 30 seconds, then turn it off again.
These settings do not work at all and I lost network and internet.
Then deleted this APN and returned to original one and everything get back as before, with available internet and RCS messages work.
So, the question is wich settings are right ones ?
The first or the second I receive in email ?
Also if RCS is enabled does it means SMS messaging (standard, old fashioned SMS) is disabled so I have to disable RCS in order to receive and send SMS ?
Also SMSC number is default one +15144240053 .
I am stuck in a middle of nowhere at this moment . I Can send RSC mesasges but no SMS and that means no 2 step verification for any serious confirmations like bank or online payments/purchases.
I must mention that when trying to send new APN and MMS settings to my phone trough my Fizz's home page I did not receive at all these messages (maybe this will help).

Keep the APN that works. Just delete the other one. Or you can just select it and it should remain selected, it does for me but it might not for you.

Try the following:
- Update Android to the most recent version
- Update Google Messages app to the most recent version
- In Google Messages, completely disable RCS
- Remove any custom modifications you have made to APN configuration
- Settings -> System -> Reset options -> Reset Mobile Network Settings
- Reboot your phone
- On the Fizz web page, go to https://zone.fizz.ca/dce/customer-ui-prod/account/plan -> Manage my plan -> Advanced parameters -> Fizz network parameters -> Send to my phone
- After the network parameters from Fizz are installed, reboot your phone again.
- Check in Google Messages, that RCS is still disabled.
- Try testing SMS again, starting by sending an outgoing message.
If this doesn't work, please provide additional information:
- Exact phone model
- Android version
- Has your Fizz number been ported from another carrier? If so, when?

It is Samsung A35, it is new fizz number, not ported one.
Latest android version, bought summer 2025 .I'll try what you say to do, but need some time. Thank you.
I would like this topis to stay open so we can solve this problem here, not posting new topics with the same problem.0 -
Samsung A35
Try and find an exact model number: Settings->System->About phone->Model number. The exact location in the Settings menu may vary as vendors keep messing with it for different phones and Android versions.
Should say something like: SM-A356 + plus a capital letter.Latest android version
See if you can find what it is under Settings->System->About phone. Also, if you can see a version number starting with A356. Possibly under "Baseband version".

If you use RCS, the app will always use RCS by deafult. You can set it to send by sms mannuelly with the specific user.

OK, looks like problem is located in mobile operators (I hope) ? I test with my friends and sending SMS from different mobile operators outside canada or US to Fizz has some issues: I have tested it with A1 operator and Telekom (T-Mobile) operators from North Macedonia and receive regular SMS from A1. Telekom did not succeed sending regular SMS, returning error message, only send message with RCS method. So Fizz should check if receive messages from Telekom is enabled. Looks like some operators are blocked in Fizz's network from sending SMS messages ? Sending SMS message to A1 also result in success.

Hello janeku,
Thank you for posting on our community hub.
For your first question, regarding the APN settings, Fizz APN settings are:
APN: mobile.bm
MMSC: http://mms.mobile.bm
MMS proxy: mmsproxy.mobile.bm
MMS port: 80
APN type: default,mms,supl
This information is also available here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-are-fizz-network-settings-apn.
RCS being enabled does not disable SMS, only if that setting is specifically set within your phone's settings.
Since you informed us that the issue is specifically with SMS from Telekom, we will need you to contact us privately so we can further provide you with manipulations and eventually escalate your situation further if the issue persists.
Please contact us here: https://fizz.ca/en/support.
I hope you have a pleasant day!
