[Product Feature Suggestion] Account Security MFA

It's been raised a few times in these forums without any indication that the feedback is getting to the Product team at Fizz and that it's being taken seriously, so I'd like to raise it as a specific Product feature request. Support for TOTP/SMS 2FA should be a top priority for helping the Fizz community keep their accounts safe.

In this day and age, with scammers regularly trying to gain access to people's accounts through spoofing/phishing, and the use of an email (which a phishing hack would know) as the user's account name, passwords alone can no longer be trusted to be secure. Access to someone's email account is enough to request the password to be changed.

Please provide us with confirmation that this is on the roadmap for delivery, as it's a basic level of security that has a significant amount of benefit in keeping phone accounts safe from SIM shenanigans.

I'd love to see this as an option to opt into rather than always enables.

It would be great if it were available.

That would be great if 2FA could be implemented

If/when they add 2FA, I suggest they allow us add passkeys as 2FA along with TOTP 2FA.

You’re absolutely right that account security is critical, especially when it comes to mobile services where access can mean control over calls, messages, and personal data. In today’s environment, passwords alone are no longer sufficient, and additional protections like TOTP (authenticator app) or SMS 2FA can make a meaningful difference in keeping accounts safe from phishing, SIM attacks, and compromised emails.

A few key points worth highlighting:

    🎯 Why 2FA matters

It adds an extra verification step beyond just a password.

Even if a password is exposed, access is blocked without the second factor.

Authenticator app–based methods (TOTP) are generally stronger than SMS.

    📌 Request for Product visibility
Bringing this up as a Product feature request is the right move. Many community members have expressed similar concerns, and having a consolidated, clear request increases visibility.

At this time, there hasn’t been an official confirmation from Fizz publicly stating that TOTP or SMS 2FA is on the roadmap. That doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t be implemented — internal roadmaps and priorities evolve — but there hasn’t been a formal announcement.

Here’s what would help make this request stronger and more actionable:
✔️ State specifically which 2FA methods you’re asking for (e.g., TOTP via authenticator app, SMS 2FA, hardware keys).
✔️ Explain the security benefits (e.g., protection against phishing and SIM swaps).
✔️ Ask for clarity on timeline or roadmap status rather than just if it’s being considered.

    Example request structure:

Feature request: Support for Two-Factor Authentication (TOTP and/or SMS 2FA)
Reason: Enhances account security and protects against phishing, SIM attacks, and compromised email accounts.
Outcome: Users can opt in for stronger verification, reducing unauthorized access.
Request: Please confirm whether this is on the roadmap and, if possible, provide a tentative timeline.

By presenting it this way, it gives the Product team a clear ask and the community a solid reference point.

In another post a whizz mentioned that they are currently working on this.

@propea's post is entirely AI-generated, unfortunately without being fact-checked from the looks of it nor it being marked as such. So, apparently, the AI hadn't crawled that particular post from @Whizz where they said they are working on it.

    Good to know.
Will consider this in the future.

    Thanks for finding the post.
We have to be careful with the AI generated posts.

Indeed, some posts using AI contain falsehoods.
