Shadowbanning on Forum?

Recently I made a repost of a question because the original thread was closed, even though the question was NOT solved.
Not going to link that question here in case it leads to THIS thread being banned.

Anyone else getting shadowbanned from forum posts?

    Good morning @Morphing_NH7LI
I have seen cases where someone uses this customer forum (that is intended for customers tohelp each other) to post repeated arguments with Fizz support.
Those arguments and discussions are best left between the customer and Fizz support using the private messaging services.
When you get a solution to a problem, the solution would always be welcome by the rest of us.
    Cheers,
    Brad

Hello! Welcome in the forum. To answer your question, I got this when my post was published by error in a wrong categorie (like my referral code in the categorie Welcome and join) or with the wrong langage for the section (by exemple french in the english section). It may also happen if the whizz open a ticket for the problem. It's then take in charge by the support . You can follow this ticket in your account section.

How do I get to the tickets page? Read the entire Overview section but no button to access tickets like your screenshot. I have no notifications either, except for your comment, so I don't think there was a ticket to tell me why they deleted my post.

Thanks for bringing this up — that’s an important concern, and you’re not alone in wondering about it.

Here are a few key things to know about how the Fizz forum works regarding thread closures and visibility:

✅ 1. Threads can be closed without being “shadowbanned”

Fizz moderators sometimes close threads for organisational reasons, even if the original poster feels the question isn’t fully answered. Common reasons include:
    • The question was moved to a more relevant category
    • A duplicate thread existed
    • Moderators thought the topic was better continued elsewhere

Closed threads aren’t necessarily deleted or banned, they’re just locked from further replies.

    ✅ 2. “Shadowbanning” isn’t a thing on Fizz

Fizz’s forum doesn’t use shadowbanning in the typical sense (i.e., hiding posts without notifying the user).
    What might happen instead is:

❗ Your post might be held for moderation
If the system thinks it’s similar to a recent thread, contains flagged keywords, or is a repost, it may be moved or hidden until a moderator reviews it.

❗ Duplicate threads may be merged or closed
Even if you repost because the original was closed, moderators may close the new one too if they believe the issue has been addressed elsewhere.

    ✅ 3. If your question wasn’t resolved

That’s an important point — closing a thread without solving the issue can be frustrating!

Here’s what helps get visibility and a proper answer:
✔️ Edit the original thread with more detail
✔ Post a follow-up reply in the original thread instead of starting a new one
✔ Ask other members to bump the thread with constructive replies
✔ Use clear, specific wording so it’s easy to respond

📌 So no — you’re most likely not shadowbanned

What you’re experiencing is probably a forum moderation action intended to keep the discussions organized, not to hide your posts or penalize you.

If you think your question wasn’t actually answered, you can:
    • Reply in the closed thread asking for clarification,
    • Or post a new thread with fresh details, making sure it’s not a direct repost of a closed topic.

Feel free to describe the original question here — I can help you rephrase it so it gets better visibility on the forum 🙂

There is no dedicated "tickets page". If you have tickets open against one of your Fizz plans, they will show up right on the overview page just as in @SuperFrizz 5CQ2W's screenshot. If your Overview page doesn't show any tickets, then no tickets have been opened to address your issue.

I wonder, how a forum member is supposed to do any of that. After a thread has been closed by moderators, none of what you are suggesting can still be done. The thread is closed and can't be edited or replied to by anybody. Suggestions like this, that are impossible to follow, will likely just increase the frustration of users faced with a legitimate problem.

Well, us users actually don't know that. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it is. Just that, how would we know? "Shadow Banning" refers to the practise of making posts invisible to the forum community while the author of a post is given the illusion that their post still exists. A repost thread from @Morphing_NH7LI was in fact completely deleted by forum moderators recently (and not just closed) while their initial thread is still visible. However, moderators merely deleting a thread doesn't constitute "Shadow Banning". It would only be Shadow Banning if @Morphing_NH7LI wasn't informed of its deletion and does in fact still see the repost thread on the forum while the rest of us don't. And only @Morphing_NH7LI would know that.

@Morphing_NH7LI My suggestion to get your problem resolved is to talk to the Fizz support chat. And, unless they can immediately resolve the issue, insist that they open a ticket, one that you confirm is visible on your Fizz Overview page before ending the chat.
You could also post your exact phone model and location (like closest major intersection) in downtown Toronto and we could possibly be more helpful.
And refrain from any provocative rhetoric

First, you should know that if you want be more sure that the person who your answe see your answer, it is better to clik on the word «Quote» under his message. It will repeat her message with his address like here.
Second, to access to your tickets, click on «My settings» under the blue board of your account section.

You'll see a new page at the rigth of the blue board where you can click on the word «tickets».
Notice that I do this procedure on my PC. It may be little different on phone ot «tablette».
