Meh, same thing. not that much of improvement to be honest

Not much, I agree.

Improvments are mostly centered around the camera for most use cases, but I'm planning on using it for dev work also. The USB port at 10 Mbps speed is a huge upgrade for me, that's why I ended up with the pro model.

The iPhone 17 is already here, I guess you meant the iPhone 18 ;-)

I would also be very suprized if Apple reduces the amount of RAM in their next device, but other brands might be tempted to do so. Again, this is all speculations.

Apple has always been experts in managing their component supply chains.
They are probably less likely to be affected by memory short supply than most other manufacturers (except maybe Samsung, which designs and manufactures it's own memory chips).
