Group messaging issue - iphone
Last kick at things before I switch carriers after MANY years with Fizz.
Had iphone 12 pro and used group messaging using the phone app without issue for months. We are 8 in the group.
September - I could see everyones messages, but not everyone could see my messages. Some could, some couldn't. I tried everything (airplane mode on/off, ios updates etc. Got new iphone 17 pro. The issue continued. All of a sudden in late October, it worked. Since last week, it is happening again, and the only one in the group who can see my messages this time is an iphone/Fizz subscriber - so it is worse than the last time.
I am ready to throw in the towel. Chat support told me it was my iphone and to contact Apple. It happened with TWO iphones, so it's not an iphone issue.
HELP!!!!!

Hi, it's not a Fizz problem if some people receive it and others don't. Sometimes an iPhone can block certain people. You should check with these people to see if you are blocked.
If the person no longer has data, that could also be a reason because from iPhone to iPhone, it's iMessage for texts, so it uses data.

Hi there. It's definitely a Fizz issue. Nobody is blocked - this is a group that I communicate with multiple times a day. It happened on two different iphones (I got new one in October). There are 8 of us in the group. Everyone has data and can message in the group. I see their messages, and they see each other's messages - most just don't see mine. The only one who can is another Fizz user. There have been previous posts here suggesting an APN issue with Fizz, but Fizz does not allow access to these settings and chat support has not been any help - quite the contrary and they did not even follow the conversation of things that were already asked/attempted. I guess I'm done with them, which is unfortunate.

This certainly is puzzling. If you want to confirm your hypothesis, have everyone in the group disable their carrier data and use only email addresses for the Apple messages in settings (not phone numbers).
Get everyone to connect to wifi and see how the message thread works.
Understanding thesis a pain for your group.
If you decide to leave Fizz, then make sure you don't get locked into a contract somewhere else in case the problem persists and you want to come back to fizz.

Follow up to many many hours of online Fizz chat and Apple phone chat/with screenshare - this is a Fizz issue. Apple confirmed that it is a provisioning issue with the account, and because Fizz does not support RCS. The Apple tech found this to be super unusual because RCS has been around awhile.
I am currently having to search for a new provider because there is no way to get this resolved with Fizz directly. Crazy.
I've been with Fizz over ten years, convinced several others to join them as well, and while I hate to say goodbye, my first efforts to resolve an issue with their (lack of) support have proven to be the last.0 -
Hello,
I am sorry to hear that you wish to leave our community.
At the moment, RCS messaging is not available for Apple phone users with Fizz. This is due to current platform compatibility, and not an issue with your account or service. We are working on it, however, we do not have a timeline we can provide for when this service is going to be available for Apple users.
Please rest assured that standard SMS and MMS messaging continue to work normally, so you can still send and receive text messages and picture messages without any interruption.
If you have any other questions or need assistance with your services, feel free to let us know. We’re happy to help. You can get in contact with our support by clicking on this link: https://fizz.ca/en/support
Thank you for understanding!
Have a good one!
