Adding Friends

Hello all,

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, so please let me know if it should be posted under a different category.
I tried following the advice to add myself as a friend, but it doesn’t seem to work. Is this trick no longer valid, and do I need to add someone else’s contact instead?
I was just hoping to earn the badge a little more easily, lol.
