trying to gift data
Why do I get pushed out of that page with a warning stating "You must have an active mobile plan with Fizz to access this item." When I have an active mobile plan? Please help

Maybe it's because they are giving free data out to everyone right now for that black Friday thing?

You only can gift unused data at the end of your payment cycle. Once this cycle is over, it will no longer be available to send as a gift.

Sorry to hear about the issue.
Please try clearing your browsers cookie and cache , or even test the gifting operation from another browser. ( be sure that the person that will receive gifts also has data included in the plan as shown here : https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-is-data-gifting-and-how-does-it-work )
