What is the monthly charge when purchasing a phone?

I'm trying to see the monthly charge including a refurbished phone, but it isn't clear what that monthly charge includes. Does it include the cost of the phone or is that extra?

This is an additional charge; you will be billed separately.

    Only the Phone

Monthly charges for the phone and plan are separate with Fizz. When you buy a phone, you have a choice of Pay Now or Pay Monthly. For paying monthly, the monthly rate for the phone is displayed. The monthly phone rate will not be collected by Fizz, but by a third party financier. The monthly price for the Fizz plan is always extra, but may be discounted by as much as 80% depending on what phone you buy.

    Hi @Parrotdise
I recently bought an iPhone 16 from Fizz.
The payments are through the finance company nd are auto withdrawn from a bank account (not auto billed to a credit card).
The Fizz payments continue for the plan only, deducted from my credit card.
The phone I bought was full price, but the price of my plan was reduced 50% so for me it was a good deal.
    Cheers,
    Brad

The phone through fizz is separately from your plan. Separate payment to be exact as well. A different company does the financing.

You really need to sit down and calculate things out. Is there a reduction on the plan or not. If there is what is that amount in total over the financing term. Deduct any savings fizz will give you (if any) and deduct that from the cost of the phone and see if it's worth it, compared to buying direct from manufacturer, or best buy or where else you can buy on sale.
    It's worth crunching the numbers.

So you can't pay for a phone monthly by credit card?

    Hi @bjlockie
I don't think so, other wise I would have chosen that option as I am big into collecting credit card points.
There is a small chance that I missed the option in the process, but I don't think so. It makes sense that when they are financing at zero interest for the entire length of the contract that they would not want to lose any more on credit card transaction fees.

I paid 1264.50 for the phone on zero percent monthly payments for 24 months.
My plan reduced by 14.00 a month for 24 months = 336.00 saved.

I did some quick checking, not throughly, on other carriers, and the only discounts I could find for the iPhone 16 was a "trade up" scheme, where you pass less for 2 years but then have to give the phone back.

For me, the savings with Fizz were ideal.

    Cheers,
    Brad
