Get a $40.00 bonus when your friends use your referral code.
When a friend celebrates their 2nd month, your respective referral bonuses are unlocked in each of your accounts and applied the following month as a reduction on your monthly payment.*

The base for the referral bonus is $25. Sometimes Fizz runs promotions where it is being increased. I have not seen $40 this year, but, earlier this year, we did have $35 twice for few weeks each.
When a friend celebrates their 2nd month
I believe that is 3rd month now, Fizz increased it.

Québec isn't being ignored.
For months now, Québec has had much better deals at Fizz than the rest of Canada.
At the time of writing:
Québec Canada-wide plans: 0GB: $7, 15GB: $18
BC/AB/ON Can-wide plans: 0GB: $12, 15GB: $30Should be obvious that in areas where you charge more for the same service, you can also afford higher referral rewards. And rightfully so, since the referrer has a much harder job convincing people as pricing is no longer a strong argument they can use. At least as long as they are honest

What they did in BC/AB/ON they included part of voice and data price in the base price, when you add them you still have a different but much smaller ~3$

Sure, but why do people keep going for those unlimited voice/text/voicemail plans? Ask yourself, is that is really necessary?
Look at the clientele that flanker brands such as Fizz are designed to attract. A much higher percentage of young and/or price-sensitive people as compared to the general public. Does the target audience really need unlimited calls and texts these days? I'm sorry, but everything is done in apps today. And those need only data.
If I ask my kid about regular text messages, he goes, oh yeah, that's the thing I get all those code numbers on when I try to log into stuff, right? And when it comes to outgoing calls he's ever made outside of social media apps, I can probably count them on one hand.
So, don't mind me if I compare the prices that are actually relevant to Fizz' target demographic. Even though, the carriers have admittingly done a very successful job in helping the public into not realizing that they don't really need unlimited call and text services anymore...
Fizz actually does it exactly right here, the only carrier in Canada that does allow you to buy only data for your monthly plan. While still allowing you reasonably-priced pay-as-you-go access to voice and classic text message service for the odd occasion where you may actually need it.

It is $40 right now. My account is still showing $25 but I got $40 when a friend activated using my referral. The website is glitchy sometimes. Open in a different browser sometimes it works.

How are they going to control two different amounts? Lots of problems and disputes for Fizz.

My usage is different from yours, and probably yours is different from your kids’. We are not all the same, I will add, luckily so.
For sure I like more to be able to control any single addition0 -
Which is why, if you want, you have a choice to add unlimited voice and text to your plan for some $$ extra if you need to. Which is perfectly fine. But you cannot make an argument that all plans must have unlimited talk/text, just because some people may need or want it, nor can you make an argument that the considerable differences in prices between provinces for plans that don't include unlimited talk/text are irrelevant.
Why can a customer save $7 in Québec by not selecting unlimited talk, while customers in the rest of Canada can save only $2? Month-over-month that is. Same for unlimited text, $4 saving in QC, $2 in the rest of Canada.
If you want to talk fairness between provinces, why is everyone getting upset about a one-time $15 difference in referral bonus while completely ignoring the ongoing month-over-month unfair pricing embedded in the price plans?

It's understandable that Fizz needs new clients in other provinces but Fizz is the company based in Quebec and the users from Quebec made Fizz into what it is today. So personaly when I see such ignorance of Quebec users I can't just keep quiet.

Probably not long ago the prices
In March or very shortly after is when it changed.
have changed and now are almost the same as for Quebec.
That is simply NOT true. For the "all-inclusive" plans with lots of data, what you say may apply. But for any customers that want a cheaper monthly price and use more services on a pay-as-you-go basis when they actually need them, BC/AB/ON/MB has been much more expensive than QC since March.

We are going off topic here. In my opinion plans can be slightly different based on the region, but the refferal bonus should be equal for everyone.

Hello @everyone,
I can confirm that there is no issue.
The referral reward amount varies based on the province and the activation date of the referred line.
This means the reward can differ depending on where the activated line is located (Quebec, Ontario, etc.), and when the activation took place. Please note, if you have multiple mobile lines in different provinces, the reward amount will be based on the line set as your default plan in Settings > Communications.
That’s the line where the reward will be applied.
You can see more about this here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-kind-of-rewards-do-i-earn-for-inviting-friendsThank you for understanding, have a good one!
