So FIZZ does not work in Toronto if you have a plan in Montreal and Quebec only ?

So I came to Toronto from Montreal and nothing works. No calls in or out. No data. No service. No customer service. I get a text from FIZZ telling me to go to a website when I have no way to get to the website because I have no internet. It is just stupid. The only customer service is a robot called Rob. It is a joke. On top of that they still don't have WIFI calling after 5 years of promising it. This company is going to fail. I am jumping this ship before it sinks. I suggest you take your phone number and do the same.

    Hi @Messedup
You are correct. Your plan is limited to your province, unless you have a Canada wide plan.
Fizz keeps their costs low by saving money on expenses like 24/7/365 support.
I saved over 80.00 a month by switching to them and for that kind of money, I am happy as I have never needed support of any kind.
Looks like you would be happier at another provider that provides wifi calling and live person support via a voice call 24/7/365. Lots of people like to pay more for those features, but not all of us.
I am not going anywhere :-)
And since your plan is from Quebec, you have the ability to add money to your wallet - this feature is not available for all provinces. When you add funds to your wallet, you will be charged per call\text\data until your wallet is empty.

If you can find wifi anywhere, login to your account to update to a Canada wide plan (does not become active until your next payment cycle though) or add funds to your wallet.
    Cheers,
    Brad

Do you have money in my Wallet?

If you have Quebec plan only and you are outside Quebec, you must have money in My Wallet in order to make phone calls or surf the internet.

It's pay per use, when you are outside Quebec.

You can also buy Travel Add-On for Canada:

    • $10 for 500mb
    • $4 for 60min

The pay per use rate, I think it's about $0.25/min, $0.10/mb
(It's not shown in the Travel Add-On anymore)

I think Fizz is the only company to offer Canada-wide or Provincial.
I chose just Ontario because I don't leave the province but if I did I would have gotten Canada-wide.

I sympathize with OP since there is no one to call but that is why it's cheap and they don't hide it.

No service. I get a text from FIZZ...

So, obviously, if you are getting texts from Fizz, you do have service :) Incoming texts are always free with Fizz and work anywhere where there is service, inside your plan's coverage area or out.

So I came to Toronto from Montreal and nothing works. No calls in or out. No data.

Well, yes, because you left your plan's coverage area, Québec. Which you have the sole responsibility of choosing. I don't quite understand why you are being surprised that the plan you chose works exactly as advertised? I mean, what are you blaming Fizz for here? That they give you the flexibility of choosing a province-only plan at a lower price point when other carriers don't?

Go to one of the big burger or coffee chain restaurants, and you'll have Internet. And buy a Canada travel-add or put some money in your wallet there. Takes only a few minutes and their services are available instantly.

The only customer service is a robot called Rob. It is a joke.

Not true. You can tell the chat bot at any time that you want to chat with a human customer service agent and you will. Only difference is you have to chat with them, you can't talk to them.

On top of that they still don't have WIFI calling after 5 years of promising it.

I'm not aware that they have "promised" it. Also, if you look around in the market, none of the other carrier's low cost flanker brands are offering it either. And then, how would it help you on this trip to Toronto where you claim you don't have a single option to even temporarily access the Internet by means other than your Fizz sim?!

I agree that the combination of neither offering WiFi calling nor offering regular calls while roaming outside the US and Canada is a major no-go for a customer like me and has resulted in Fizz in getting less revenue from me as they could have. But there are other ways for a reasonably tech savvy customer to make and receive calls and texts on a single local Canadian number over a data-only sim globally and without roaming charges and they work surprising well.

This company is going to fail. I am jumping this ship before it sinks. I suggest you take your phone number and do the same.

If that is the best option for you, then do. Personally, I am with @BradDoell on this, I knew exactly what I was getting into when I've subscribed to Fizz and what services I would be getting or not getting. And as long as Fizz provides the services promised at my plan level and sticks to its infinite price guarantee for my plan, I'm not going anywhere.

    Hello @Messedup ,

I am sorry for your issue.
Verifying your account, your coverage is Quebec, you are able to use the services included into your plan only in Quebec.
To be able to use them in Toronto, you need Canada coverage. To change it, you need o make a plan change, under My plans, Manage, Change my plan.
The change will be effectives tarting the next payment cycle as we are prepaid.
Another option is to buy a Travel Add on to Canada, from My plans, Manage, Travel Add-Ons. Add-Ons are active immediately. They’re valid until the end of your next payment cycle.
Also, you can add money into your Wallet and pay per use.
    Please consult our FAQ too:https://fizz.ca/en/faq/im-travelling-outside-my-coverage-zone-what-are-my-roaming-options
Thank you for your kind understanding.
    Have a nice day!
