Travel add on issues - I can use data apps like Messenger but not text SMS

When your phone first started roaming in Europe, you should have received an email explaining what your roaming options are. You seem to have managed to buy a travel addon for data, as all of your over-the-top messengers are working. However, outgoing text messages are not included in a data addon. For that, you have to put some dollars into your Fizz wallet.

Contrary to what it says in the FAQ above, besides Québec, the wallet is also available in Ontario, not sure about other provinces.
The email you received when you first started roaming will tell you how much each outgoing texts will cost you. Incoming texts are always free.

You should be able to receive text messages, but sending messages may require additional steps. Since Fizz provides services for Canada and the US within the coverage area, this might be related to the roaming settings.
I recommend that you either purchase a travel add-on to send text messages while roaming, if offered through the travel add-on or pay-as-you-go feature. You can do this by navigating to My Plans > Manage Plan > Travel Add-ons or Wallet.
