Fizz - when will you stop blaming Apple for no RCS?
This will likely be quickly closed/deleted by the mod team but what a joke! This is so misinformed. RCS IS available on iOS by Apple. It is not them the issue but entirely a FIZZ limitation. Other carriers are doing RCS on iOS just fine. As are Android devices on Fizz. For whatever reason, you folks are very slow to activate this feature for iOS devices. It's about time.

Good morning @Bogs
The screenshot says “…. RCS is not supported….” It doesn’t say it is an Apple problem.
At the top of the web page referred to in their reply, in red font, Fizz says RCS between IOS and Android is “not available at Fizz for the moment.”
I have one person in my sphere of friends and family who uses Android instead of IOS. For group messages with that person, we use WhatsApp.
But it sounds like you really want this feature, so WhatsApp is not a solution for you.
Hopefully Fizz will set up RCS and IOS integration in the future. They just finished eSIM rollout, perhaps this is next.
Cheers,

Apple and the provider has to work together to get RCS working. Apple even posts a list of providers that you can get RCS on... so this is not just a fizz problem. its both fizz and apple

Anything official yet from their end?

BradI'm referring to the "as Apple has not adopted RCS for iMessage" part which clearly isn't true. Regarding the red at that link, yeah that much has been obvious for months now. While Fizz has amazing plans and benefits, they are extremely slow in adopting new features. It's a bit of a shame. For the WhatsApp part, I do have the application but not everyone around me (without an iPhone) is going to install that and use yet another application to keep in touch just because my carrier isn't up to date. As you can imagine, it's so convenient to have everything in one place instead of spread out through various different platforms to communicate with people, specially in this social media overload era.

https://support.apple.com/en-ca/109526Fingers crossed that they do work together but as mentioned by Brad above, Fizz have only just rolled out eSIM so even if Apple is proactive, the ball remains with Fizz to speed things up. In a competitive market, they can't afford to always be behind and so slow to implement things.

All the other low-cost brands offer RCS. I don't know what they are waiting for.

Hi again @Bogs
My apologies, I missed the part about Apple not adopting RCS, which is incorrect as you said.
As for why it has not yet been adopted yet by Fizz, I can only guess that it is about priorities and resources.
Fizz is the cheapest plan I have found that fits my needs in the decades I have had mobile phones. Another common complaint (other than eSIM which is now done) is the lack of someone to speak to when a user has a problem, or the wait time for chat support as Fizz is an online only company.
I saved 50.00 a month when I switched, I never need tech support, didn’t need an eSIM, and lack of RCS is only an inconvenience for me, so Fizz is perfect.
I go to several rural areas in Manitoba with very spotty coverage, and I always have as good a service as my friends with the big three mobile providers.
Hopefully Fizz adopts RCS soon, as it does seems that there are users that really want this functionality.
The feature I would like is wifi calling, as my home is in a particular area where no carrier has a great signal, so I get dropped calls.
And thank you @wenhan for the link to the Apple site that list the features, by carrier that are supported.
Cheers,

Hello @Bogs ,
Currently, RCS messages are available for Android users with Fizz. For Apple devices, we are actively testing this feature and have plans to implement it in the future. However, at this moment, we do not have any official dates or estimated timelines for the rollout. Rest assured, we will inform all our customers officially through our website and the forum once we have more details.
In the meantime, we recommend checking the FAQs periodically, as well as staying updated on our forum for any news or announcements.
If you have any further questions, you can discuss with our agents live by using this link: https://fizz.ca/en/support
