Hello. Just wanted to let people know that after latest NA update from OnePlus for 12, LTE now works on my phone natively. I bought my phone from OnePlus Canada website. So it is the NA version. Update and check. It should work for others as well. Thanks

as of april 12th VOLTE still not working on Nord N30 (model cph2513_11) :(

i have applied the pixel ims patch. process works great but call test fails.

fizz keeps saying in its warnings about service cutoff that i need a "VOLTE compatible" device but that is definitively untrue. my device is VOLTE compatible on all required bands. it's just that fizz won't whitelist it.

Have you updated your Phone ?

This is more complexe. This not just Volte but Setting for Volte. Probably not possible now to adjust compatibility with this network.

    Reboot and try again #8378.

    Ok, speculation mode on.

This is the second OnePlus phone now confirmed to have received Fizz VoLTE profile through a software update. Both are from the OnePlus' flagship series and still receive Android major version update support. It would not be surprising if other phones from the OnePlus flagship line, still under active support, would receive similar updates over time.

The Nord N30 5G is from OnePlus' entry level / mid range line and does no longer receive new Android major versions. @ordinaryhand could confirm whether Nord N30 5G still receives security updates. If it still receives security updates, it is not impossible that it will be updated, but it seems far less likely.

Let's hope, Fizz will end the speculation soon and will let users know what phones exactly can expect support. It would be interesting to know if any OnePlus 12 or 13 users have received any service cutoff warnings from Fizz in the past.

    I like to speculate

OnePlus N30 is supposed to be supported till 2027 therefore an update should be done

Since the OnePlus phone start to work with Fizz after an security update, probably a new certificate is able to get the phone certified with Fizz, or some other security fix/improve

One the change log I only read this can be affect the VoLTE Integrates the March 2025 Android security patch to enhance system security.

The Google AI says three years of security updates and it was released in mid-2023. So, that would make it mid-2026 for security update support. It apparently already ran out of major Android updates and it doesn't look like it going beyond Android 14.

Yep, don't get me wrong here, I am not saying, it can't happen. I'm only saying it is a different category phone from the OnePlus' that have received it, in that it is from the OnePlus Nord product line and not the OnePlus flagship line, that it runs Android 14 and not Android 15.

And last but not least, that @ordinaryhand is receiving service cutoff notifications from Fizz may be an indication that they are not planning to support the N30 for VoLTE. That's why it would be interesting to know if any OnePlus 12/13 users received any such notifications, maybe this is how Fizz is indirectly telling us what phones they are going to support for VoLTE before the 3G sunset and what phones they don't.

It was suppose to get at least one OS update, therefore at least the 14, and at least 3 years, the verge said july 2027, but if is still till 2026 they still have to receive security updates for another year

I am only saying, why the phones start working after the updates?

On an Android phone, any firmware update can apparently change the set of carriers you have carrier profiles for. These carrier profiles define what features of your phone you can use with what carriers. This applies to VoLTE, VoWiFi, VoOtherSim (aka Backup Calling) and Personal Hotspot. It also defines whether you can configure certain features yourself or not, whether you can manually select 3G-only, LTE-only mode etc., whether VoLTE can be disabled, in VoWiFi and separeately for home network and roaming, whether WiFi or the carrier's network takes precedence, what types of APNs or can add/modify etc.

So, Fizz must simply have added their profile to the recent OnePlus firmwares being rolled out.

There was a case a few years ago, where Vodafone UK users of Sony phones suddenly lost the ability to do VoWiFi after upgrading to Android 12. Apparently, adding the proper carrier profile to the firmware upgrade was simply "forgotten".
