Stuck abroad with yes and no call forwarding

Before I traveled to Europe I purchased 500 minutes of long distance calls to England, I then forwarded my calls to a UK number, now I'm stuck somewhere in the middle where my calls are not being forwarded but my voicemail isn't working either, so anyone calling me just gets cut off right away, tried chatting with fizz but their agents suck, please help!!

    Hi @Mos,

    From the call forward FAQ:

“Please note: it is impossible to forward a call when you are roaming outside Canada or the United States.”

Site faviconHow do I set up call forwarding?

I suggest you disable the call forwarding and check your voice mail settings. The FAQ on setting up voice mail is here:

Site faviconHow do I set up and use my voicemail?

    Cheers,

    Brad

    Hi @Mos

When you are outside the country, you cannot modify the call forward, I don't know if the support can remove it for you.

Is your Fizz plan off? If the plan is not online the phone should not know where you are and the call forward probably must work.

If it doesn't work and if the support cannot help to remove the call forward for you, probably your only option is contact some family member or friend and replace the SIM and put it online in Canada. (but I think you should not do this)

If you have the phone with you and it registers with a network in the UK, you can try to "dial" the following control codes. Calls will not work on a Fizz plan if registered on a network outside the US & Canada, doesn't mean control codes won't. I haven't tried this however.

#002# - Cancel and all call forwards
##002# - Cancel and forget all call forwards
#004# - Cancel all conditional call forwards (unreachable, no answer, busy)
##004# - Cancel and forget all conditional call forwards (unreachable, no answer, busy)
#61# - Cancel call forward if no answer
##61# - Cancel and forget call forward if no answer
#62# - Cancel call forward if unreachable
##62# - Cancel and forget call forward if unreachable
#67# - Cancel call forward if line busy
##67# - Cancel and forget call forward if line busy

Dial them is if they were a phone number in your phone dialer and see if any succeed.

I'm surprised, you were able to register a call forward to the UK in the first place though, when I tried to do this to another European country on my Fizz plan, it got rejected. As did any non-Canadian numbers in North America.

I believe that these control code will not work outside Canada and the USA. However, if the plan is offline, I don’t see why call forwarding shouldn’t work. It’s similar to when you travel to Europe and return to Canada—you would need to turn on the plan to get call forwarding working again.

I will definitely follow this post closely.

Yes, it would be interesting if @Mos could report back and see if any of this worked. By the way, once all existing call forwards are disabled, you would use one of the following commands to re-register the forward to the mailbox (unconditionally for as long as you are overseas).

none of these codes seems to be working from abroad as fizz blocks all calls, agents are also

Well, that is unfortunate. Not very well thought through on the side of Fizz.
