If I don't have an active data plan, do I still benefit from the 500 MB upgrades from levels?

If I changed my plan recently for March-April to have 0 GB as I have enough rolling over, do I still benefit from the 500 MB free upgrades that I get from levels?
I'm aware that I cannot gift data or receive a data gift if I don't have an active data plan, as far as I know.

Yes you can use the upgrades in order to have data and also the data gift from Fizz

I found the FAQ
If your plan does not include mobile data, you can still activate an upgrade for data. You may have to configure your
to have access to that data tough.

yes you can still get your 500mb every month.
