Sorry this happened to you. As others stated, there is nothing, other than calling the phone and hoping for the best, that can be done.

Hi, don't forget to report it lost and lock the SIM card in case a malicious person uses it.

I ran into this issue too. Whoever took the phone turned it off immediately.
Most likely they'll reset it and try to resell it. Nothing much you can do but report it stolen so that every carrier can blacklist that IMEI so it can't be used for accessing cell towers.

Unless the phone is sent to another continent. It can then certainly be used.
