Gift data perk to a non-data subscriber

I understand that I can gift my unused data on current payment cycle to a friend who has a data plan.

Q: Can I gift my 500MB data perk to a friend who has NO data plan?

    To gift a perk to another Fizz member: 

    Some perks are giftable to other Fizz members. A perk that is gifted, however, cannot be regifted: it must be activated and used by the recipient or else it’ll be lost. 

    1. Log into your account. 
    2. Check that the Fizz member to whom you’d like to gift your perk to is listed in your Fizz contacts. 
    3. In the left column, click on the summary that shows your My Rewards level. You can also scroll down below your usage summary to My Rewards and click on See details. 
    4. In the perks section, click on Available. 
    5. Click on the perk you’d like to gift. 
    6. Select Gift to gift it to that lucky Fizz member you chose.

    “If you receive mobile data as a perk, you can enjoy that perk even if your plan does not include data. You may have to configure your APN settings to do so.”

    Hi no data plan, not possible to send or receive data.

    Hello, it is currently not available for gifting to users without a data plan.

    if this is the perk you get when you just opened the account, that perk is giftable. I never tried gifting it to a user with no plan though so just try and see

    Yes that's the acccount opening data perk of 500MB.

    My friend has not got a SIM yet (ordered online last week but nothing came).

    Depending on the answer, friend may activate with or without data (light data use ~ 1GB).

    To be certain, your friend can activate a data plan for one month and deactivate it the following months. This way, they can also accumulate rollover data for the next month.

    Users here are saying that data cannot be gifted to someone with a data plan, however the FAQ states otherwise.

    Please consider updating the FAQ.
