Who else thinks Fizz should add Wi-Fi calling? Would you use it?

Wi-Fi calling can be a game-changer, especially in areas with weak mobile signals. It’d be amazing if Fizz introduced this feature! Imagine crystal-clear calls even in basements or rural areas, as long as you're connected to Wi-Fi. What do you think? Would you find it useful, or is it not a big deal for you?

I realy hope they will add Wi-Fi calling! I contacted the support to ask last month. They said that they are thinking about adding this feature in a few months.

    Hi @Ciroxa

This subject was long discussed in the forum, for sure the WiFi calling will be great, and since the VoLTE backend is available, we can expect to have the Wifi calling too.

I mostly asked because someone else was told by the support team that Wi-Fi calling might be coming. I also find it weird that's why I asked to kinda confirm it.

I believe that they will be implemented since VoWiFi uses the same infrastructure as VoLTE.

I hope Fizz takes notice of this highly anticipated Wi-Fi calling feature and turns our wish into a reality!

Yes that would be awesome! Also mobiles compagnies that has Wi-Fi calling and that are under the Quebecor umbrella are known to not restrict Wi-Fi calling. By that what I mean is that most mobile compagnie restrict Wi-Fi calling to calls made in Canada but the other Quebecor compagnies allow you to also use Wi-Fi calling when abroad but you can only call to Canada. So you could be in England and call a canadien number using Wi-Fi calling. Since fizz is own by Quebecor I'm pretty sure they wont restrict Wi-Fi calling eighter that would be awesome!!

I am obviously in the minority here :-)

I rarely, maybe once a year if that, make a voice call over the phone network. Any audio convos I have are with apps that use data.

If I needed to call an actual phone number where the Fizz signal was not good enough but wifi was available, I would use an app for that as well (Skype among others).

I do understand how valuable it would be in an emergency tho for rural customers
    Cheers

Most carriers are planning to remove 3G connectivity some time in 2025 so it would be nice to have.

Parts of my home will drop calls if I go there so it would be a good addition.
