Hello, I am trying to gift data to my son (a second mobile in my own account) basically a transfer of data. But when using the gift>know the person>Phone number it says "This member cannot be found"

I've just activated this number, a couple of hours ago but I've tried it before with a different phone number (not in my account) and it worked. Can someone please confirm that gifting only works for different accounts ?

This is weird. It should work. Maybe try to use a different browser or Incognito mode. If after this is still not working, reach out to customer support.

Does your son have a plan with data? It might just be a bug since its a new number maybe it will work tomorrow. If it doesnt, contact the customer support they will help you.

try to check the privacy settings, this should not affect the transfer within the same account https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-do-i-change-my-privacy-settings-inside-the-fizz-community

    Good morning @Midasss

As others have mentioned, the problem may be related to your son having set himself as “incognito” or not having a data plan.

    From the official FAQ:

Who can I send a gift to?
You can send a data gift to:
    • Any Fizz customer who is findable in Contacts and has a data plan
    • A complete stranger, as long as they are findable and have a Fizz data plan
You cannot send a data gift to:
    • People who are not Fizz members
    • Fizz members with no data plan
    • Fizz members who have designated themselves incognito

Buying an Add-on or applying a perk or an upgrade allow you to add extra data to your plan, but that won’t give you the ability to gift or receive data. To gift or receive data, your plan must include data from the get-go.

    Cheers,

    Brad
