Stuck on Fizz-EXT

Hello.

Ive been with fizz for 5 weeks. In Niagara Ontario.

I had my original sim card that after a few days toggled between fizz and Fizz-EXT when needed. I'm near the edge of coverage

I had to change my sim card due to a number issue in settings.
So I've been on the new sim card since July 16th. I still don't have access to fizz network, only Fizz-EXT.

Could this be partly due to the fact that I put my phone in airplane mode at night every night when I sleep?

After 72 hours the connection should switch to Fizz.

Any thoughts? I do have question out to customer service as well. But just wondering if any fellow subscribers have input?

    You are not alone, this question comes up regularly.

    I am also on the EXT network and have been so so nice I signed up with Fizz. This is my third month. I also live on the edge of the coverage zone, but travel regularly to the center of it, reboot my phone etc and am always in the EXT network. I don’t know why rebooting the phone works for some but not for others, but I don’t worry about it anymore.

    When I contacted support about this, the reply from @Whizz is:

    “I kindly wish to inform you that, as long as you are in the subscription zone there should not be an issue if your phone displays Fizz EXT.”
    Probably you are in an area where we are using mostly the partners networks however, in order to receive an exact answer regarding this, please contact our customer service agents.

    I read multiple member with the same situation, the only suggestion try to reboot the phone once a year.

    Fizz is aware of this situation; they already mentioned it here. https://fizz.ca/en/faq/partner-networks

    New to Fizz?  

    The name of the network indicated on your phone will not initially say Fizz. Instead, you will see Fizz EXT. We are aware of this situation and are working to address it. Rest assured, your phone is not roaming, and you will not incur any charges. Simply restart your phone 72 hours (that’s 3 days) following the activation of your SIM card, and all will be in order.   

    Therefore I will wait another week before contacting the support

    Alright. Thanks for the replies. It's just strange when before I was on just fizz. Same phone.
    It's alright. It's working well so I won't worry about it haha
