Tethering while in the US
Hi everyone,
I have a Fizz Canada+USA plan that works fine on my Google Pixel when travelling to the US.
I would like to set up a hotspot so I can tether a tablet that I sometimes use.
My tablet connects to my phone, but will display that there is no internet. Same thing when I try bluetooth tethering. I get a connection without internet access.
On the phone with the Fizz SIM card, everything works fine.
Is it a settings problem or is tethering restricted while in the USA?

It's most likely a carrier restriction, but not by Fizz.
Some carriers in Canada will prevent you from using your data as hotspot and I suspect this might be the case state-side as well.

Have you tried setting up a hotspot in Canada? Does it work? If it does, then maybe it's a carrier restriction in the US

I used a couple of times between two phone and I didn't have any issue

Double-check the APN configuration, the APN type must include supl
something like this
APN type: default,mms,supl

i have tether off my phone in canada and it works. i'm using a pixel 6 pro. maybe try usb tether and see if that works. also some of the companies in usa do prevent tethering but i'm not sure if we would be limited by their restrictions. connected and no internet seems more of an issue with the hotspot that's being created. can you try resetting that to see if it works?
