Does it matter that fizz can't run on 5g?

Sometimes I notice my pixel 7 is using 5g rather then LTE. Actually quite often it's switching back and forth.

Since fizz doesn't have 5g coverage, will this matter, will I be completely out of service in all the areas my phone switches to 5g ?

    From the phone configuration you can disable the 5G

    Not at all. LTE covers more areas than 5G, so you won’t be without network in “5G areas”. You will be on the LTE network, as Fizz has no 5G networks.

    To be honest, unless you are in a very crowded area, like huge music festivals with 100 000 + people, not having 5G won’t be a problem. 5G vs LTE speeds aren’t noticeable during web browsing or social media use…

    However, my best advice would be to turn off 5G capabilities on your phone. This will likely save you battery life.
