Where can I find Fizz's Wireless Plans for persons with Disabilities? Is there a discount available?

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has a regulatory policy that sets out that wireless service providers need to provide wireless plans for persons with disabilities and that is currently the subject of a proceeding (Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2020-178). It states that:

The existing regulatory framework requires retail wireless service providers to offer mobile wireless plans that meet the needs of Canadians with various disabilities and to promote those plans in ways that are accessible (including through stores, websites, and customer service representatives).

The Commission launched this proceeding to examine (i) how wireless service providers are complying with these requirements and whether differences exist between primary and flanker brands; (ii) whether the plans currently offered and promoted are sufficient to meet the needs of Canadians with various disabilities; and (iii) whether additional regulatory measures are required, and if so, the nature of such measures required to ensure that Canadians with various disabilities have access to plans that meet their needs and enable them to participate more fully in Canada’s digital economy.

Some secondary wireless providers offer discounts of 10$/month, the big two Canadian wireless providers offer discounts of 20$/month for persons with disabilities. What has Fizz done, almost half a decade since the CRTC decision/order, to be in compliance with this order?

Thank you to the two aforementioned comments which link to the "contact us". I spoke to Yaya at customer support this morning 15 April 2024. Unfortunately Fizz is not able to offer any plans which would be in compliance with the CRTC regulatory policy.

I was informed, however, that they are working on making an option available soon such as receiving "a disability discount", which, I believe would turn a plan into a "disability plan".

The conversation started with me asking about Fizz's wireless plans for persons with disabilities. The chatbot, Rob, was unable to provide a direct answer and transferred me to a customer service representative, Yaya. Yaya explained that Fizz does not currently offer discounts for people with disabilities but is working on creating a plan that meets the requirements set by the CRTC. Yaya assured me that Fizz is working on implementing this feature soon. I ended by thanking Yaya for their professional response and expressed hope for the future availability of disability discounts from Fizz.

The comments of the agent helping me out today appear to be supported by Fizz's "Accessibility Plan 2023-2026" which states one of their "MEDIUM TERM" objectives is to "Assess the possibility to offer a discount on Mobile plans for people with disabilities." However, that same document also indicates "Discounts offered to people with disabilities are for a limited time period." The skeptic in me now wondered if there is currently a wireless plan available for people with disabilities. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The agent reassured me that they are indeed working on making a discount available. I hope, as the agent indicated, this will indeed happen soon, and, most importantly, that it will accommodate peoples disabilities for more than just a "limited time period" but rather for the entirety of their disability.

No matter the case, I put it to you and Fizz, that there is a lack of availability of "any plans" (official plans) for people with disabilities at Fizz and that this needs to be rectified immediately in order to be in compliance with the aforementioned CRTC's policy.
