No phone, only data
I guess that as long as you have some funds in the wallet most of us tend to use less money on minutes than the standard rate, no?

Hi @gcalde
You can do, but be aware that the Fizz's wallet can be used only in Quebec, for the other province is not available.
Also remember that the incoming and outgoing calls are rounded at the minute.

I never tried for calls but I'm currently using the wallet for sms so I can save up to 4$ for my plan... I should send 80 texts a month to spend 4$ being 5 cents each so it's a good way to save money.

My Fizz plan is 4GB/mo right now with no talk, no voicemail, and no texting. I make calls ($0.0052 per minute) and send texts ($0.0075 per in/out text) through my VoIP provider (voip.ms) and it works fine.

I'm on the second month of no unlimited calls and texts.
I buy the 60min call and 200 texts add-ons. If you buy them on the first day of your plan cycle(not the day before), they're good for 2 months. I only do long calls using apps when I'm on wifi, and use messenger or whatsapp for most texts.
Each add-on is $3 and since it's good for 2 months, it averages to $3 a month for both calls and texts.
Depends on your lifestyle, but it works perfectly for me.

I prefer the whole plan, with unlimited minutes and data.

It works but really depends on your use case. I removed unlimited texts and the voicemail from my plan saving quite a lot on the long term and I pay per use every time I need to send a text (only 5 cents each). However I prefer to stick with unlimited calls

Hello gcalde,
Check your inbox... 😉

I disabled calls and voicemail too but please notice Fizz wallet is only available in Quebec area.1

I've never tried but I will consider it

I disabled phone and text and only use data (20gb).
I added a small amount in my wallet (for texts) because I rarely receive txt messages (Only iMessage).
I also bought 60 minutes call for like 3$ since I barely use my phone.
It is great! And my package barely cost anything

That's a very good arrangement!

there is a calling app called textnow, there you can call/text Usa and Québec for free with internet, would be interesting to try to use a plan only data with this service to see if your data last the whole month0

This is an awesome idea, since I'm a student and rarely call or text anyone, I could actually do this to save money. However this Wallet thing like you mentioned I guess is not available outside Quebec in my case. Hopefully soon. The 60 mins of calls, is there an expiry for that or until it runs out? How much is SMS for outgoing taken out from your Wallet?0 -
I do it to make more points, it’s fine i will never use over 300 mins of calling and 200 txt. I have a 50 gb plan

What do you do to make more points?

Hello i add funds to my wallet (10 points per dollar) and then i buy minutes, and texts (10 points per dollar) and you’ll also the the badge worth 100 points.

Thank you @PALevesque for explaining your strategy

Gotta beat the system to get more points 👍

That's a never-ending challenge 😅

I'm trying this for the first time. I went with 3$/60mins as it is cheaper.0

As an add-on?

I am doing the same thing for the moment and it works ok. This is the best solution in my opinion too.0
