French community is way more active than English one
Hi guys, neither English nor French is my first language, however I'm more comfortable speaking English therefore I used to spend most of my time here in the En community. Recently I noticed however that the Fr one is way more active. A few users are very reactive and prompt over there and discussions go on way more than here. Why do you think is that? I don't think it's related to the number of users but more on how committed they are to farm points...

Let me know what you think and let's try to keep up!

Probably because fizz was launched in Quebec and probably the members believe that they should prefer French to be able to speak with the major of the members
0 -
That’s why I asked if someone from other provinces come to forum regularly to help
0 -
Yeah that is true, but Fizz is expanding all over Canada now so I believe more and more english speakers will start to join the community... I didn't mean to offend anyone with this... but not even the "Break room" is as active as the "5 a 7" and there's no support or helpfulness involved here... It's just to talk about random stuff
0 -
That's good thinking Pascal.. I mostly asked because in the eng forum is really hard to discuss even about random stuff.. I'm not only talking about helping others. There are not so many users that come back and keep answering so it's kind of a static forum from that perspective

It’s will change soon cause now a lot people get mobile plan from west

The 5 à 7 is animated by 3 or 4 people not for other users
I see less and less technically questions I hope that this means that members are able to find their solution autonomously or that there are less and less problems
i don’t like much the use of 5 à 7 and I stopped here

Yeah because Fizz was launched in Quebec so maybe a lot of people initially are french

The Fizz website does include more and more information nowadays and also the old conversations in the community often pop up with a simple google search... As you said I really hope people doesn't need that much technical support from the forum...

Quebec has a big majority of francophone community versus english. However i must admit thst mtl is becoming mostly anglophone. French guys have more spare time i guess 🤷♂️

Interesting perspective on the subject 😅

It is true, Montreal especially downtown and universities areas are very anglophone!
0 -
If the french groupe is more active there must be a logical reason to it
0 -
Yep, i agree with you
0 -
I meant the part on "French guys have more spare time i guess"... 😅

I follow a fb page called "Bienvenue chez les cheaps", it's a francophone group of people in Quebec who share tips on how to save money. A lot of people on it are with Fizz. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the "cheaps" post on the forums regularly to level up, but I mean why not?😂
0 -
The forum is almost made to level up too 😅
0 -
Yeah that’s what i said. If the groupe is more active it must be cause they have more spare time🤷♂️
0 -
Probably everyone who regularly post on the forum does that to level up! If you can help other people out while doing it, even better!

I believe there are simply more french speaking people

*in quebec only

Obviously! But most of the Fizz users right now are in Quebec.. let's see how the situation evolves

I feel like the Ontario population is going to hit fizz really hard. By that i mean alot of guys are going to join fizz. It all depends of the publicity fizz sends up that way

This forum looks fun
0 -
Yeah that is true, for now...
0 -
A lot of people will join if Fizz works well enough in Ontario... I mean with those price is gonna get well for sure if coverage and service are good enough

Enjoy it then!!!

The forum is really fun and it's also helpful, especially for new users

Well said!

Why is that ?0

What's happening here?

Lol. Oh. Thanks!0 -
Although the mobile expansion in Canada will bring more traffic to the english forum than the french one, Fizz internet is still mostly in Quebec, so it may only bring the english forum closer in activity, it may not overtake it.

Let's see... I feel like in about a year, the English forum will overtake thr French one. Fizz is heavily advertising in Ontario. I see posters about Fizz everywhere I go.
0 -
So now Ontario looks like Quebec has for years? 😁
We will see how it goes overall — the French Internet section should remain more active than the English one… for now.

Considering Fizz launched in Quebec (a mostly French-speaking province), it’s quite normal to see a larger French forum than an English one. However, as Fizz continues to grow in English-speaking Canada, I expect to see the English forum growing beyond the French one. I remember the English forum two years ago being quite empty, but it has improved a lot, as there are many active discussions…

Hopefully. We couldn't get nearly as many points if there was omly the English forum.
0 -
We're still a long way from the English forum even equaling the French. Whether it will ever catch it, much less overtake it, is still a question.
0 -
I’m pretty sure it will. There have been huge improvements in the last months/years, and the presence of Fizz in most of Canada will certainly contribute to improve the English community…

Of course, it would be weird if the introduction of services outside Quebec resulted in the English forum shrinking 😜
At the same time, Fizz is introducing a TV service that is available only with an Internet plan, both of which are only available in Quebec, thereby increasing activity on the French forum.
And the current state is the French forum is still far more active than the English one. Perhaps one day that will be different, but that day is not soon.

Maybe soon we will be more active
1 -
I think today is pretty good. We got a decent amount of traffic.
1 -
I agree it will be balanced out in the long run no worries!
1 -
Yes. Slowly but surely.
0 -
Yeah exactly

It's been only a few months with the services outside Québec so probably in a year it'll be okay!
