Hi @Roman1970
Thi sim will work however there are couples of thing that you must know
- you need to have a certified volte phone with fizz https://fizz.ca/en/faq/compatible-devices
- you can use the plan on partner networks for at most 3 months https://fizz.ca/en/faq/partner-networks
- if this is your first plan with fizz don’t forget to use a referral code in order to receive 25$ at your second payment, you can pick mine is after Jess_ or pick one here https://forum.fizz.ca/en/discussion/2198337/this-is-the-place-for-your-referral-codes-here-and-only-here

Yes, you can easily order a new SIM card from Fizz and select a mobile plan that suits your needs, such as the 40GB for $42.00 plan you mentioned. Once you receive the SIM card, you'll need to activate it and select your plan through the Fizz website. Fizz is a Quebec-based carrier, and its primary network coverage is in Quebec and parts of Ottawa. However, Fizz offers roaming services, which means you can use your Fizz plan while traveling outside of your usual coverage area, including in the United States.

Make sure to check Fizz's current roaming rates for the United States. Fizz typically offers Travel Add-ons or pay-as-you-go roaming rates. You might need to purchase a Travel Add-on for your trip to cover your data, calling, and texting needs in the US. Be mindful of your data usage while roaming. Using data services like GPS, streaming, or social media can consume a significant amount of data. Depending on your plan and the add-ons you choose, you might have limited data while roaming. Before you leave, it's a good idea to contact Fizz customer support or check their website for the most current information regarding roaming policies, charges, and coverage to avoid surprises.
The idea of this page https://fizz.ca/en/contact-us is to explain how you can access the chat bubble. If you do a search in the Solution Hub related to your issue and access the help page the chat bubble will appear at the right corner.
- You're logged into your Fizz account.
- You're active on a help page such as https://fizz.ca/en/faq/im-unable-log-my-fizz-account-what-do-i-do
- Simply click on the chat bubble that appears at the bottom on the right.
- You're within the business hours: every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (EST).
- You have disabled any ad blockers in your browser.
If the chat bubble does not appear, this means that the number of sessions waiting for our answers surpasses our processing capacity. If that happens, send us a private message via Facebook Messenger or Twitter.

You don't need to use roaming if you are going to the USA. Fizz has 3 options for coverage: Quebec only, Canada-wide, and Canada+USA. By coverage If you pick this 3rd option, you can use all of your regular data, messages, voice minutes, while you are in the USA, as if you were in your "home" coverage, no roaming necessary. I was in the USA back in October so I switched my coverage from Quebec to this Canada+USA, I used data and messages and calls and they worked exactly as if I was in Quebec, the money that I had in my Wallet was never touched, no roaming charges. Since you plan on being there several months I think this is by far the most economical solution..
I don't think you need to worry about the Extended Coverage. This is for partner networks in Canada, and the page linked makes no mention of this applying to the USA (and the line about the Canada+USA coverage implies it is not a concern too). It might be worth checking by having a chat with a Fizz employee.
The one thing you will need is to make sure LTE is working on your phone, the US doesn't use 3G anymore. This also means making sure VoLTE works if you want to make calls (even without VoLTE you'll still be able to use SMS and data though). Also, even though the Canada+USA plan means no roaming charges, you will still have to enable Roaming Data on your phone to get data at all (but you won't have to pay any extra roaming charges, as I said).
Good luck!

Hi @Roman1970
Yes that it is the rule, in the past I read that a user was asked to buy an addon in order to go further and use for more than 3 months. But I don't have any guide or information to validate this.
But if for you changing the number is not an issue, I will suggest doing the following
- Buy 2 SIMs (if you are able to buy from a metro station, at this moment they are sold for 5$+TX), here you can find the map with the metro station where to find the SIM vending machine.
- Activate the first SIM for the first 3 months, in the account A, using a referral code, in this way you will receive 25$ at your second payment, and it will apply for the 3 payment
- when you started the 3rd month, close the plan, this will be closed at the end of the 3rd month
- activate the second SIM at the end of the previous billing cycle, using a new account B (different email) in this way you will be able to apply a referral code (you cannot apply the referral code of the previous account, since an account must be active in order to be able to use the referral code) and get 25$
Or keep the second SIM as spare, since they wrote we reserve the right to interrupt or block access, if Fizz's will enforce this rule after 3 months, you can go forward and activate the new plan using the SIM.
The majority of your usage (calls, texts and data) must be done on the Fizz network.
We reserve the right to interrupt or block access to our network of partner providers if you use your mobile service primarily on their networks for 3 consecutive payment periods.

Hi @Roman1970,
I asked Fizz FB support about this rule a few days ago. I am planning to go to the States for only six weeks but I wanted some reassurance.
This was their response:
