My message sending has suddenly stopped working (as of 4 days).

Recently my sms and mms messages have stopped working. I still receive messages from others but am no longer able to send them. When I try to send a message, it just says it is sending for awhile and then eventually I get a fizz notification telling me that a message was unable to send. If I turn my RCS on in google messages, I am able to send them normally but I would like to be using sms and mms as my defaults. (I have unlimited call and texts) It reads Trouble sending. Check options. If I click on the check options, it asks me if i want to resend or delete the message. Resending is circular and deleting works as far as I can tell.

Thanks.

To contact Fizz customer service they will create a ticket if the siuation warrants it.

We cannot contact directly to technical support.

The idea of this page https://fizz.ca/en/contact-us is to explain how you can access the chat bubble. If you do a search in the Solution Hub related to your issue and access the help page the chat bubble will appear at the right corner.

    • You're logged into your Fizz account.
    • You're active on a help page such as https://fizz.ca/en/faq/im-unable-log-my-fizz-account-what-do-i-do
    • Simply click on the chat bubble that appears at the bottom on the right.
    • You're within the business hours: every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (EST).
    • You have disabled any ad blockers in your browser.

If the chat bubble does not appear, this means that the number of sessions waiting for our answers surpasses our processing capacity. If that happens, send us a private message via Facebook Messenger or Twitter.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with SMS and MMS on your Fizz mobile service. As a fellow customer, I can suggest a few troubleshooting steps that might help resolve your issue:

    1. Restart Your Phone: Sometimes, simply restarting your phone can resolve network-related issues.
    2. Check Your Message Center Number: The SMS service center number might have been changed accidentally. You can find the correct number on Fizz's website or by contacting their customer service. Once you have it, you can usually set it in your phone's messaging settings.
    3. Check Your Plan: Even though you mentioned having unlimited calls and texts, it’s a good idea to log into your Fizz account and verify that your plan hasn't encountered any issues.
    4. APN Settings: Incorrect APN (Access Point Name) settings can cause issues with sending MMS. Ensure that your phone's APN settings match those recommended by Fizz.
    5. Network Settings Reset: Try resetting your network settings. This will erase all network settings, returning them to factory defaults, and might fix your issue. However, note that this will also erase saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth connections.
    6. Check for Software Updates: Ensure your phone's operating system is up to date, as software bugs can sometimes affect messaging functionality.
    7. Disable RCS: Since you mentioned that turning on RCS in Google Messages allows you to send messages, try disabling it to revert to SMS/MMS. There might be a conflict between RCS and SMS/MMS settings.
    8. Clear Cache and Data of Messaging App: Sometimes the app's cache or data can become corrupted. Clearing it might resolve the issue. Note that clearing data might delete your saved messages.
    9. Try a Different Messaging App: To check if the problem is app-specific, try using a different SMS/MMS app.
    10. Contact Fizz Support: If none of these steps work, your best option is to contact Fizz customer support. They can provide more specific assistance and check if there's an issue with your service or a wider network problem.

Remember, these steps are general recommendations and might vary depending on your phone's make and model. If you're not comfortable performing some of these actions, it might be best to seek assistance from someone who is more familiar with mobile devices.
