Any updates on eSim support for Fizz?
I am planning to travel to Asian countries and could use this option to avoid buying a dual no phone

FIZZ sells phones with eSIM, but there is no mention that it is useless, anyway FIZZ prefers not to even mention the SIM configs on the phones they sell.

so you can use eSIM overseas as long as the phone supports it? In other words, it has nothing to do with fizz?

Hello wayne,
This is the phone that allows e-sim functionality.

Yes - Some phones allow one physical SIM and one eSIM: that would allow the phone to function as if it was a double SIM phone.
I am not sure why people are so obsessed about Fizz supporting eSIM - if you are a regular Fizz customer, unless you are in the 0.0001% of people that is buying a phone only supporting eSIMs (there are very few in the market at the moment), that should not really affect you very much. The vast majority of customers insert their SIM in their phones at the beginning of their "tenure" with a carrier, or when they get a new handset, and never remove it. And there really is no reason for you to remove it, unless you swap around SIMs quite often, and in that case, it is probably more useful to deal with physical SIMs rather than with eSIMs.

The SIM card only costs $5 in certain Montreal metro stations. It shouldn't be a problem to come to Fizz...

Some company like samsung will disable the Esim functionality on canadian version of their phones, even on their flagship models, even if the phone supports it, just because you bought your phone in canada, so even if you remove the fizz sim card the Esim option will not be availabe in canada or abroad and you will be forced tu use a physical Sim.

new phone technology features always come late in Canada

This will definitely not happen. I have a corporate phone number (Rogers) where I use eSIM on a Samsung phone.
How Samsung (or other manufacturer) will explain that starting let's say next month it will not support this technology already implemented on the Canadian market?

When someone asks for eSIM, we can hear birds whistling from the support

What's the advantage of eSIM?

We gotta keep waiting!
