Yes the wifi is not powerful, but it can do better than 6 or 7 meters
Try to change the position of the modem, probably you have some kind of interference.

Check it out on another device as well to be sure if it's the modem's issue.
Try 2.4G or keep it in higher place to avoid obstacles.
You can install your own router and have a mesh system, multiple access points
For 50$, you can get a small repeater. TP Link as example.

Sorry to see that you`ve had issues with the service.
From what I saw, you have the 2,4 Ghz band disabled on your WiFi and that`s why you have low signal issues ( since the 5 Ghz band has a really low range overall ~ possibly 5 to 6 meters maximum, depending on where you placed the modem ).
To address the issue follow these steps :
1. Log in at: 192.168.0.1 from the web browser of any device.
2. Log in using the following information:
Username: cusadmin
Password: xxxxxxxx (Password you chose during initial setup)
3. Go to the next section to apply changes:
Wireless ->Advanced -> 2.4 Ghz or 5Ghz -> Band Steering ( enable ) and also make sure that on the wireless tab you enable the 2,4 Ghz band to stay active.
