No Fizz in one downtown Montreal building

Is it unusual I can't get Fizz , or videotron in the new apartment I just leased in Montreal downtown? Both left and right side building has Fizz, this building (built in 2009) only has Bell coverage.

    Hi @peterpan

Probably they have an exclusivity with Bell and the owner

Fizz has some limitation, such the address should not consider a business one, but Videotron doesn't have it

    Your home address

Whether it’s your house, cottage or apartment, we need the address where you would like to have our Home Internet services installed. This step is crucial to check if the Fizz Home Internet service is available at your place.

As you start to type in your address, the field will autofill with address proposals. Make sure you pick the right one, all the way down to your apartment number if applicable.

Know that Fizz services unfortunately cannot be used for commercial purposes or in the operation of a business.

Our Internet service is not available at your address?

It is for many residential addresses in Quebec and Ontario and, over time, will be for more and more postal codes. So, come back to see us in a while.

Contact Fizz’s support team directly to inquire about possible network work in your area, and if not, they will be able to do some further investigation to correct this situation. You can do it by opening the following link: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/status-services

you will get more answers by asking the building owner or manager

Good point, they need the permission of the owners ( the community ) 🤔🧐

Does anyone in your building have a cable connection in their apartment? I can only guess perhaps the builder decided to wire for fiber and save the cost of wiring the building for cable. It would seem like a crazy decision but not unimaginable.

I don't think this is a Fizz issue but more probably a building issue... Just speak with your building manager...
